I really wanted to talk more about snowboarding with you over beer , but I had to come back to work . Absolutely next time , Let's have some beer after riding !! kipstar Posted January 7, 2014 Report Share Posted January 7, 2014 Yeah, we had a very mini (2 people) expression session at Furano....all I can say is Masahiko RIPS! I shot a little more video while I was here and will take back and edit; sadly no footage of either of us riding (you would not want to see me ride, but worth it to see Masahiko for sure). After riding with Masahiko, I realised how many bad habits I have, so I have got some lessons from Kojima (former Olympic coach for Japanese snowboard team) at Furano International Snow Sports School (FISS), and English speaking ski/snowboard school here in Furano, so hoping by the time I meet up with another bomberonline rider, I will be able to actually keep up next time! The conditions for carving are EPIC in Hokkaido, really nice firm packed powder today, and empty runs (at times I was the only person on a main run as far as I could see). Calle Posted January 7, 2014 Report Share Posted January 7, 2014 (edited) Going to Hokkaido on the 16th. I will have room for two boards. What do I want? 1. Tanker, seems given. 2. Oxess RG185, Needs some space. 3. Prior WCRM 183, Most allround? 4. Coiler FC VSR 168, Nervous, digs in in soft snow. The carving boards will have a BBP mounted. Currently the Prior is my choice since it needs less space and speed but I like the Oxess more and dont really ride the other boards. Haha probably comparable to asking wich board to bring to Sweden :) We will start of with Asahikawa as our base. Ski areas will be up to debate. Staying on Hokkaido for 12 days or something similar. If you like to dig deep trench on the slope,bring your best race board to Kamui Ski Links or Pippu Ski Ground. If you like to dive into deep powder,bring your powder machine to Asahidake Mt. There are many slopes around Asahikawa. I know much more , because I was raised in Asahikawa! Ask me any question on your trip! Nice trip!
