Mark.Andersen
Just returned from my second weekend of riding unreal powder in Tahoe. Kirkwood is claiming 16 feet of fresh in the past two weeks. Heavenly says they've gotten 9 feet in the past seven days. It's been a major PITA driving up and back from the bay area, but even the NINE HOUR drive on New Years Eve was worth if for the lines I got. Hopefully, the sun will come out by next weekend and I can actually get back on the groomers!:p
Guest dragon fly jones
My boys down in Truckee and King Beach ride at Squaw and they had 8 feet last week and it was going off for the last few days. Garrett G reports 3 feet down at the lake and another 4 feet or so at the Funitel. Damn Tahoe loc's getting the goods!
trikerdad
Shasta got about 3 feet of Sierra Cement in the last couple of days. It'll be okey after it's groomed but it was yucky today.
Brian
Got home Thursday eve after four days of riding Mammoth and June Mt, the conditions were epic, great snow, riding/carving w/ my son 22 yrs old and Tim Tuthill from Prescott AZ. Arrived Sun. eve with light snow falling, cool temps, Monday AM still snowing, pow condtions but poor visiblity, low light. Tue AM still snowing but lighting has improved and we're able to kick it up a couple of notches and heading for the fresh pow and some trees, the pow is light and dry with some nice untracked areas, more than a foot of new snow. Wed AM we wake to blue bird conditions and head over to chair 2 and 10 for some cord and trenches and meet another carver from LA, Donny....what a day. Thurs, after some disussion we head over to June and get the goods. We're the first car in the lot and we load on the two seater with temps in the single digits (1 deg). The grooming at June is the best I've seen next to Buttermilk Aspen and the ride up chair J6 looks like carpet. We had the mountain virutally to ourselves, we had to leave Thurs but the trip was great. aloha Brian
Guest dragon fly jones
The gateway to the Tahoe Donner region is snowed under, my boy Josh called and said that he has not even left house since there is so much snow. He also reports that those covered parking spots in and around Reno are collapsing and wrecking cars and trucks. He also reported that several roofs have caved in and that there is a limit flight schedule into Reno Tahoe airport with more snow on the way. Damn and they say that it never snows there, HA, the sad little joke is on them. Hope that storm hits the Colorado Rockies. One more of these storms and were set! BRING IT ON, mother nature, bring it. DFJ
Hugh
I haven't gotten a good window to score much pow lately. I had a week off after Christmas and the roads were a nightmare. Can't wait for the snow to come when work and wife give the blessing :D Hugh pow quiver minus the Prior 4x4...
