Recommended Posts

Hi,

I had such a good time " 'biling" at Danniel's Summit (Utah), I'd like to try doing a weekend of 'biling somewhere east, preferably get good airfare too, maybe use one of the discount airlines. Can someone give me a Top 5-10 destination list for snowmobiling in the East.

many thx,

Barry

Barry, most everyone I know of that goes snowmobiling from the Boston area loads their sleds up and drive 4 to 6 hrs north, which basically means that they are either in the "Northeast Kingdom" area of VT, extreme northern NH, and northern Maine, or practically in Quebec. I have not personally done it, but I do know there are many tral networks up there, but I don't know about the rental situation. If you are planning on flying, I would guess that the closest major airport to any decent snowmobiling would likely be in Burlington, VT. NH airports are tiny, wouldn't get jet service, and I don't know if Bangor, ME is a big enough airport for jets, but Portland, ME is. i think VT would be a no brainer, but I would not rule out Quebec at all. Seems like they have all the snow.
