jtslalom
I just received my new Status board. The new board is the blue one. It's a prototype that is made for carving with softboots. It's a 163 and has a real cool shape and graphics. It also has rocker technology that creates pinch points when carving. I rode the white board all of last year and this year so far. It is a carving machine and isn't tailored for carving as much as the blue one. I can't wait to ride it tomorrow.
jtslalom
I rode my new Status board today and it was amazing. Yes this board can be ridden with plates and hard boots. If I still had a pair I would give it a try. The board drives through turns while gripping on ice and has plenty of "pop" coming out of a turn. I love it. scrapster
Nice! Do you know when they'll be available to the public? And what bindings are you riding? Crazy angles!
jtslalom
I think the blue one is available as of the beginning of next season (I will check and get back to you if different). That is the one made for carving. I think Shawn (the owner) is only making a limited amount. The white one is available now but it's really geared for soft riding. You can look it up online at statussnow.com. I know those binding angles are pretty steep. The back is 60 degrees and the front is 57. I like them steep for carving. If I'm riding in the woods or bumbs, I will set them both to about 12 degrees.
scrapster
Cool. Do you know any specs for the carving board? Waist, scr, edge, etc. Just curious how it stacks up to the other softie carvers out there. Have fun! The Jersey area used to be my stomping ground--when MC was still Vernon Valley/ Great Gorge. jtslalom
I just texted Shawn and I am sure he will get back to me by tomorrow. I will post all the specs as soon as I get them or maybe he might chime in to the thread. Both me and my wife grew up in Vernon. I've ridden VV/GG also starting back in 1988.
