Jack M
Interesting creature! In the first picture, what am I looking at along the left edge of the plate? Is that the core of the plate or something else? Looks like the plate is not 100% carbon fiber?
dano
Yeah, like someone trimmed it to fit? Great (endless) conversation board.
beetle3
I believe that plate only stiffens the board up. Does not isolate in any way.
Jack M
I believe that plate only stiffens the board up. Does not isolate in any way. Presumably one pair (front or back) of the bolts attaching the plate to the board are passing through slots, not holes, in the plate. So the plate can move in shear along the board. This will provide some isolation.
Chris Houghton
Jack, the sides of the plate come painted black, but it can wear off I guess. You are correct, Tinkler plates are not solid carbon fiber.
mazydog
the tinkler plates are a wood core, it dampens the board in chop real well.
