All Mountain Softboot Carver? Risers?

I'm looking for a solid all mountain board for soft boot carving in the 158 to 163 size range hopefully. I have a street shoe size 10 so nothing too narrow and I'm on a tight budget. It looks like I missed the Oxygen just posted by Scrutton but something like that would be great.

Also, what's the consensus on risers for soft boot set-ups? If there's a good brand out there, what are they? Anyone have some they want to sell?

Thanks.

Several good options for softboot carving. Look for BX boards, Razor, Incline are also great. I have both of the later. The Razor has great edge hold and is still versitile enough to ride bumps and chop. Unfortunately it's hard to find any of these for sale. Last resort, I would go for a larger, stiff free ride stick. Something around 170 range so you get big enough side cut. As far as risers, Palmer makes some good ones. Sorry that I don't have any of my gear for sale right now. Hope this gives you some ideas though.

The Bomber store is in the process of making a plate that will fit their TD cant disks but they are not the highest prority so it might be late in the season. The reason I like the idea of these is that Bomber seems to be a good company and there are 3 different cant disks to use and different elastomers versus the Palmer risers that are hard to find. I am not sure how they will be selling them but I would imagine you can find some TD-2 or TD-3 on this forum for a good price so you can hardboot later and then use the cant discs with the adaptor plate for your soft boots.

Just an idea.

Hey Futahaguro - Thanks for the info. on those Bomber plates. I just read through a bunch of the stuff on the thread about them, they look sweet. I'm going to put my name on the list and maybe find some Palmer plates to get me through until the ones from Bomber are ready.

Thanks. - Ian

You're welcome. There is also a guy selling the oh-so-hard-to-get Catek FR2 Pros for $300 on the For Sale board, http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=32029 . I'm not sure if he still has them but those have built in canting/lifting and are lifted also. I saw them just after I bought some softboot bindings but personally I think the BS Plates, I like that name someone coined, are better for me since I have the TD bases and then I can get rid of the bases if I want to ride without them.

Also, Sean Martin mounted some softies on his plate system and said it worked well. No canting/lifting options but it will get both feet higher on the board anyway. There is a thread about it in the Vendor Announcements I think.

If you're still looking, I have Palmer powerlink lifts in both 1cm and 2cm sizes. Good for additional clearance and leverage when carving on softboots.

Plates are very little used and in excellent condition, with all mounting hardware. $30/ea. plus shipping.

Please PM if interested.

Cheers,

B-2

Futahaguro - I saw those Cateks........I wish I could afford them. Maybe

if I sell enough gear that I'm not using anymore I'll be able to afford a pair........

B-2 : What would you say would be the pros and cons with the 1cm vs the 2cm risers? Are they both the ones with the softer flexing "wings" or the stiffer ones? I definitely want a pair. Do you Paypal?

Thanks guys - Ian
