I just didn't realize how much.... She said their down time has dropped to pretty much zero as well.

correct, in the real world macs have less issues and for the AVERAGE end user actually solving a issue when it rears it's head is usually pretty easy. call apple, they figure out if it's a hardware issue or not and you go from there.

try calling microsoft about BSOD's and some funny colors or Dell on a dell box that's a few months old, seen this first hand, dell goes gosh, we don't know, is your monitor from us? no, well, must be your monitor or a software issue that we have not heard of but we assure our hardware is fine but if you want to pay to send it to us we will check it out but we suggest you buy a monitor from us first.

after buying a monitor from dell it still is ****ed and dell gives them **** about a replacing the videocard and instead told the people to try installing win XP. these people also had called microsoft in an attempt to get the thing to work and MS apparently was of little help other than telling them it was definately a hardware issue.

turns out it was hardware, Dell shipped hardware that for some reason did not like the software they shipped with it. windows vista, funny though, windows vista runs fine on my macbook because apple took the time to make sure it did.

thats the problem, the disconnect between hardware vendors and microsoft. seeing this now with android phones. steve ballmer ought to take his own advice about phones and apply it to their PC biz. and google ought to listen to ballmer as well.

at the 1:30 mark this is discussed, actually having quality standards in hardware to get licensed

bonus points for the way steve looks at ina fried at the beginning of the video, gotta love that c-net sends a tranny to interview CEOs of all these tech companies.
