photodad2001
I've been out a lot the last 2 weeks and one trip was to Snow Trails Ohio. I went up to take my daughter to her first USASA comp and got to meet a great guy, Peter Kern. He's the head of the Snow Ohio region. Very friendly, outgoing, full of enthusiasm, and I plan on doing things right next year by starting off early and maybe even competing myself. There were some problems with the course, not the fault of USASA, so my daughter didn't compete, but while I was there I saw several hardboot carvers and the number of soft booters that were carving was amazing. Mad River, who by the way should invite the USASA to put on events, has quite a few carvers themselves however not near the amount of the softboot variety. Just wanted to make an observation and pass on the word that carving is building in Ohio.
