nekdut
Yes, but we still have FIFTY days to go, unless they open early. :)
AaronG
Yes, but we still have FIFTY days to go, unless they open early. :) Wishful thinking Neil! You live in California, Southern Calif to be exact the snow will come later than sooner!! Have you two done the carpet carving thing also?:):)
nekdut
Hey didn't you just post that certain southern California resort near you had snow and was the first to "open" for the season? ;) Lets hope for Halloween carving! AaronG
That wasn't quite snow buddy, I was only screwing with the fellow BOLers. I just want some cooler temps to tell myself that winter is indeed on its way.
nekdut
I concur. Today was way way way too hot.
Arclite
After marching in the hot sun while carrying 50 pound drums and playing at the same time for 3 hours and getting yelled at by a balding fat man, I longboarded home, and melted on my couch. California has some serious heat issues going on. It's supposed to be fall right now, but someone decided to extend summer and make this week the worst of them all apparently. Loc, I'm totally up for going opening week end, that is if my padre is too. Neil, wishful thinking. We all hope you're correct on your countdown to falling white particles. GeorgeS
I'm hoping for a late October opening also. I've been there early the past few years before thanksgiving and I don't think I will go again if only Broadway is open. But then again I may NEED to go. I agree about the heat. It's hard to imagine Loveland making snow while I'm burning up at work.
Bullwings
So far this off season has been good to me. I've haven't been Jonesing much yet. I guess I've been too busy taking care of all sorts of stuff. In fact, I have no interest to go anywhere for opening week or opening weeks... If there's only going to be one run open, I think I can wait. But, we'll see, it's still pretty early in the season (as in the non-existant part). I've plenty of things to take care of and keep me busy through October at the very least. I don't anticipate much Jonesin' until around late November. nekdut
I haven't even scraped the summer wax off yet! I gotta get moving on that. This weekend is questionable for me, but the next is quite likely.
nekdut
I'm glad I was wrong about the 50 days though. The opening is happening almost a month early!

Bullwings
I still can't get over how patient I've been this pre-season. Still no Jonesin', yet... Although I am looking forward to many things this season, the predicted winter weather pattern being one of them.

nekdut
Wow, I am VERY glad I did not try to brave this insanity: http://www.wtfdiaf.com/uploader/pics/mmth-opening-16oct09-856am.jpg They opened 3 and 23 later in the day, but I heard every line was 30 minutes plus. AaronG
WTF!!! Looks like a sh*tload of ants heading for the honey bottle at my house in the summertime!!
Loc
What a cluster f*! I'm still considering whether to drive up in the early AM and enjoy Saturday and some of Sunday. The diminishing coverage and crowd level is such a bummer but I'm hungry for turns.
GeorgeS
The Mammoth web site had a picture of a large lift line in the morning. They took it off the site later on. The combination of free tickets and most So Cal College students being off on Fridays is the perfect storm for a crowd. Plan on going after the next storm later this month.
