fishrising
Anyone care to comment on reasons why I could have been skidding the 2nd half of my carves today? Going into the carves I was locked in, with a nice trench, but 1/2 way through I began to skid. This was both heel and toe side. Too much rear weight? Initiating my next turn too soon? Too slow? Too fast?
big mario
Yo Fish, Sounds like you are too far foward, push the board through the turn(feed the dolla'). Check angulation. This has been happening to me lately when I get lazy/tired/complacent. good luck mario
Laid Out
Sounds like you are too far forward. Either too much weight on the front foot or you may be bent forward at the waist, instead of angulating to the side. Pinch the pencil with your rib cage and hip. Good luck! kjl
imo, it's impossible to know what's wrong without seeing video or pictures. There are a million reasons why you might skid out, and 99% of the time you skid out, it's in the second half of the turn.
fishrising
I agree with you Ken. But I have no pics or vids. I'm just trying to get ideas in my head to think about as to why I may have skidded out... While I still have the day fresh in my head. My front quadricep was (is) killing me, which sounds like I had a lot of weight on it today. Not sure if that correlates to being forward or just having too much weight on my front leg. Unless that is one in the same.
KingCrimson
Definitely sounds like too much weight on the front foot. I used to have to do that on the Burton to get it to skid because the tail loved to hook up (even detuned). I guess the taper on the new board lets it skid more easily. Dave ESPI
do you normaly skid out or have you changed anything on the board? Chances are you are just tired or were having an off day. it happens to all us occasionaly :)
