Riot Velocity 182

Folks,

Hate to sell this board, but this Riot is just a touch too much for the location I ride. It works very well on my favorite more open runs, but once those fill up with too many skiers and other boarders, I make my way to less crowded trails, which are a touch too narrow. It will turn on those but my SL board spoils me for comfort on those trails. I figured someone else with some room can put it to good use.

Here is some info I found regarding the board.

Specs - Year unknown

• Total Length - 182cm

• Waist - 18.5cm

• Nose - 24cm

• Tail - 23.05cm

• Side cut Radius - 14.5M

From the literature for this board: (a little outdated with the carbon fiber description)

The Velocity is constructed using a custom woven carbon fiber cloth. Strands of carbon fiber run the entire length of the board, over ever single square inch (not a few carbon stringers which effectively accomplish nothing). Our boards have over 75 strands running its length. Carbon fiber is one of the stiffest, most resistant materials in the world. It is used on fighter planes and on space shuttles, in tennis rackets and on formula 1 race cars. Carbon provides strength and stored energy when compressed and tensioned. This means when you make a turn, you flex and been the board using the inertial force of your body weight (energy). The carbon stores this energy momentarily, before returning it to the source. When you exit the turn, the energy is released. The result is a crisp unweighting effect making edge to edge transfer faster, smoother and easier. The Velocity is laminated using "spring core". These precision CNC machined works of art run the entire length of the board, tip to tail. The cores are a combination of poplar stringers laminated edge to edge, with two Canadian maple stringers running around the inserts from the tip of the nose to the tail. The poplar is a lightweight wood, yet it retains the profile it is originally machined to, and has a very high yield when under deflective forces. This means it can bend with the flex of the board and return to its original shape again and again without breaking down the wood fibers. The two maple stringers provide stiff, high memory characteristics for the flex pattern and camber. Combined together through the lamination process, they give the Velocity a stiff, snappy, enduring flex pattern, without using excessive amounts of resin and glue in the lamination process. This keeps the boards light.

Base and edges in perfect shape. Base structured/always waxed.Topsheet dingfree superficial binding marks.

The Riot guys have since moved onto kayaks and paddles.

The base has two slight dings, one is shown and the other is maybe 1/4" wide by 1.5" long, does not affect ride.

I weigh 215lbs and I get a nice stiff flex out of it. It likes to be ridden with intent.

Not a beginner board. However, if you would like to rip big GS turns, this is your board. It will hold an edge on most anything.

I can fresh wax, if desired.

$230 plus shipping and if paypal, add $5 for fees, if paypal.

Thanks

Greg

I am in communcation with Canuck, he's got dibs. But I would say that the only safe place to let this thing run would be on the north face. plenty of room there, but once that mid morning crowd arrives, keep your eyes peeled. I just rode the 7 during the xmas new years break and forgot that western PA skiers and riders have less of a clue on alpine than where I ride at Blue. they must be spending all of their time polishing Super bowl rings:biggthump

Maybe #6 on the way:D

Greg,

Thanks for the info...I come up every year but this is year one with the alpine board...looking forward to it. No worries on the board, I picked one up yesterday (Burton Prime 178) which is pretty much sealed. See you on the hill! (I'll be up superbowl weekend)
