yyzcanuck Posted December 15, 2008 Report Share Posted December 15, 2008 Level I Officials Training The Canadian Snowboard Federation (CSF) Officials Training Program is meant to help all individuals who volunteer time and expertise to snowboarding events and competitions in Ontario. The purpose of the Officials Training Program is to provide snowboard officials with a greater understanding of the role they will assume during a competition and to introduce them to the rules of snowboard competition, the International Rules of Competition (IRC) of the Fédération International de Ski (FIS). The CSF has a 3 Level Program to ensure officials will have the best opportunity to have all necessary knowledge & experience. Download of Officials Certification Pathway is available HERE. Why take Level I Officials Training: · To be compliant with our insurance requirements · To fill on-hill roles such as: Gate Judging, Asst. Starter, Finish Referee, Slip Crew etc. · To build a stronger association and sport · To make regional and provincial events safer · To gain personal knowledge of the sport · Learn on-hill event procedures (Venue setup, designation of officials, and the hands on running of the physical competition) · Learn off-hill event procedures (the tabulation, production of results and the coordination of all of the administrative aspects that are an integral part of the success of competition). Who should attend: · Parents of Athletes · Coaches · Competitors · Club and Resort staff · Riders who wish to learn more about competitive snowboarding · Community members who want to be involved in the sport You will receive: · 6 hours of in-class and on-hill training · AOS/CSF membership · Liability coverage at events · FIS International Rules of Competition handbook · CSF pin · AOS 2008 T-shirt · Level I Officials Certification card* *To receive full certification you are required to volunteer on-hill at one grassroots or higher level event When: December 20, 2008 9:00 am – 3:00 pm Where: Georgian Peaks Ski Club Cost: $30 or When: January 10, 2009 9:00 am – 3:00 pm Where: Centennial Park Cost: $30 Club members may send one representative to a training course at no cost.
