rhaskins
I have seen a few posts from members saying their accounts have been compromised or someone may have attempted to compromise them. Has the server account list/password list been compromised, or is there a dictionary-like attack going on? The log files should rule out one or the other. If it is a dictionary-like attack on passwords, that should be easy to take care of. If it is an account and password hack, that is an entirely different matter. Or does a lot of members have keystroke loggers like a black orifice installed on their PCs that they do not know about? Inquiring minds want to know. I kinda-sorta do this for a living, support systems and etc. I intensely dislike the sort of people that do stuff like this. Intrusion Detection systems are great for this type of thing. trailertrash
There is really no way to stop this with matching usernames and screen names. It's a flaw in the system. If you can get the username you can try to guess the password. Yes there may be deterents or things to slow it down but it won't be stopped.
