Guest Digger
It is spring conditions at Snowbird. It is getting warm enough to melt in the afternoon and freezing at night. Then it takes a while for it to soften again the next day. It has been rather warm at 8000' so conditions are really variable from top to bottom and sun to shade. We are looking at a little snow coming in today through Thursday and then a warming trend again. 3"-6" should soften up the groomers again. The mountain is still in really good shape, but Snowbird is not known for it grooming job. Sometimes its excellent and sometimes it isn't. Anyway, where else you gonna' ride this time of year??? As they asked on the tram the other day -"What an Alta pass worth today?"
Kirk
Haven't ridden the Bird this season, but in springs past (April and May), Road to Provo going into Bassackwards was always pretty consistant for grooming. The frontside (Chip's, etc.) was always crowded and tracked out and all the steeper stuff was even more hammered. Mineral Basin was typically closed by then, but I guess it's still open?
