paragonUE
made a pair of slide gloves today, my process was as follows 1. buy supplies -tight garden gloves with rubber compound dip -velcro, (in case other adhesion methods fail) -plastic cutting board at least 1 CM thick 2. cut paper slide puck templates 3. draw slide puck outlines on cutting board 4. cut out pucks with jigsaw 5. cut out pucks again because the heat from the jigsaw melted them back to the cutting board 6. try various methods of adhesion to gloves including -super glue -melting them to the glove with propane torch -elmers 7. settle for velcro and safety pins 8. ride hope that helps some people, the gloves work like magic, though not quite as well as commercially manufactured gloves, a close second, and a bit cheaper. photodad2001
As my reputation precedes me, I've done it cheaper. Just tacked some nylon straps to some scraps of wood left over from making ramps. Just used a jigsaw to make them more oval shaped, but that was just to make them look nice. Probably not as secure fitting as yours and definately less fashionable, but they worked. paragonUE
scraps of wood?!? the friction mustve been terrible, the plastic at least lubricates itself a bit when the friction heats it up. ill bet you had some nasty splinters eh? photodad2001
On the short hills we use them on it wasn't that bad. They didn't last too long though. Once they wore down the metal tacks started showing through the other side. I wore my Rector Riot glove to prevent too many splinters!
