You know what will be cool is when blackjack is all of a sudden the cool card game like texas hold'em was so cool after the newest bond film...

Texas hold'em was cool well before the latest Bond flick, Casino Royale. Casino Royale used Texas hold'em because it is the hottest card game around. Didn't the old Bond movies always play the Euro version of blackjack?

No research was done before I posted:D

I heard an interview with the writer of the book today on opie and anthony. Its pretty funny how now, they don't really let them into the casino, or if they do, they have like 4 security guards on each one of them.

Jim norton: "Its funny that the casino is set up to f*** you out of your money, but the moment someone comes in that can win against them, they don't let them play."

I'll be seeing it friday for sure.

Good video Willy

Reminds me of my last job where I helped design a system for a Blackjack Tables and Baccarat. We used UV light to excite the invisible ink on the card so that we could read it as it came out of the card shoe. We also read it again when it came back of the table. We also had imagers looking at each bet circle to calculate the bet that was made by each player. With that info one can have an algorithm that can with a high percentage of reliability detect card counters and other kinds of table irregular or unwanted activity. Kinda miss working on that system but then again not having to go to work is pretty nice.

21 IS SOME GOOD STUFF.

Kinda tricky getting thru checkpoint charlie 10 minutes before the movie started but good to know a few people in promotions when there's 100 pissed off radio listener winners waiting to get in that denied.

drop that velvet rope, son.

Gleb is the man.:biggthump

Had a seat waiting for me and we upgraded and sat in the MIT reserved row with the extra leg room.

WELL worth the hassle.FKNA !

go see it, great flick !

just read the usa article, interesting.

They worked it into the plot that there was new software that monitors card counters facial expressions to weed out the old school egghead math genius types counting cards.

def a killer movie. Go see it for sure. It didn't go exactly like the true story, but close enough. I don't understand why they didn't use the big movie theater. They used one of the smallest ones they had.:smashfrea

Oh well, we got in, so I really don't care. Till the next one.

ken says the book was way better, as books usually are.

the ending was a bit cheesy, as many endings are.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Winner+Winner+Chicken+Dinner

In a game of blackjack, or baccarat there is a special term used when someone needs a face card. This is usually referred to as “monkey.” Books and magazines do not provide a satisfying explanation for that one, providing only the formal meaning. But what is the origin of the “monkey term”?

Frank Scobkete, the number one casino gaming best selling author explains the term “monkey” in the following manner: it refers, he says to something which unwittingly and rather promptly may reverse the situation in the game. Players calling for a face card “monkey” in blackjack are hoping for a dramatic change to occur. Frank noted that he was once told by a pit boss that old playing cards have monkeys as the highest denomination cards.
