anybuddy know where I can find some alpine/carving videos to put on my Ipod 30g video ?

I need the ipod upload link cuz I haven't figgered out how to convert the embed code to itunes.

I wanna be able to whip out my ipod and show folks what carving looks like, and kitesurfing.

or if any real techie gurus can convert a vid and sent it to me via email itunes friendly.

this vid would be great on the iphone/ipod cuz I'm a big audioslave/rage/soundgarden fan:D

One thing that could make your life loads easier is iPod Linux.

Don't need proprietary codecs like the Apple OS on the iPod does.

Plays a lot more sound files, including MP3, FLAC, Lossless FLAC, and OGG.

Again, no proprietary BS to deal with.

I'm just as clueless with anything beyond mp3.

Willy, I love that version of the Temple of the Dog tune. Chris Cornell still brings it for the most part. Nothing like back when we saw Soundgarden in '95 on the Superunknown tour, but still good.

I am looking to do the ipod vid thing for my son's new ipod. I will let you know what I find.

I'm hoping to load a ton of kickin' youtube videos like those into the iPod and cradle it on the dash next to the GPS. It's pretty sweet at night with the tunes blasting and a little video going. My buddy has it on his car stereo IN the dash and the videos are tiny but ya don't wanna be distracted too much while driving. There's just SO MUCH good stuff on youtube, etc and many are good quality audio and video.

lemme know what you figger out, it can't be that complicated

I haven't tried everything, but I am converting a file with itunes right now. It gets technical at the beginning. But that is just for the people who want to know it. Don't let that scare you off. It gets very simple further down the page.

ipod linux, horrible battery life

I hope it's better than it was two years ago........

the apple OS is FINE for most users, apple lossless, AAC and MP3 are all you really need.

video, lots of solutions as long as you know the perameters

WW IM me for mac specific stuff, I use mac OS most of the time, if you need to figure something out I can usually figure it out.

if you have some extra space on the HD install Ubuntu to play with another bad ass OS

Bob, I get over 13 hours on Linux. regular iPod gives me 10.

My Ubuntu laptop is a different story..eats up battery regardless of what I do. Then again, I like running way too many apps and heating up my processor, and I have to leave the fans on all the time.

Still get..2 hours tops. Got more like 3 1/2 hours on Windows.

If you're going into the boot loader and booting linux over and over, that really cranks the processor, you can run the ipod down in an hour. If you leave it on ONE operating system, the battery life is good.

Willy, seeing your passion for Road Rash..you'll appreciate this. You can play Doom on a Linux iPod.

I'll be happy if they come up with a solution for flash on 64 bit boxes other than running the IA 32 version of the OS or attempting to install the 32 bit version of mozilla on a 64 bit install of the OS
