Dan
Hi folks, Meadows is still looking for volunteers for the NorAm Finals, which they're hosting from March 21-23. They're running PGS and slalom races, and they're expecting the U.S. and Canadian national teams to be there, so the competition will be world-class. In addition from being about 10 feet away from some of the world's best alpine riders as they run the courses, for every day that you volunteer, you'll get 2 lift tickets (one for that day, one to use later at a time of your choice) and lunch. They're also looking for forerunners! If you're interested, contact Chris Kastner: Chris Kastner Ski & Snowboard School Director Mt. Hood Meadows PSIA National Alpine Team 503.337.2222 ext 418 His e-mail address is ckastner at skihood dot com. (posted on this earlier here: http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/showthread.php?t=19793 . It doesn't sound like there's been much response, so I thought I'd re-post with more information.) dshack
Looks like I'm going to do this, but it means I need to be at the mountain by 7. Anyone else driving up? My friends refuse to take off early enough to make it.
Dan
Looks like I'm your huckleberry. Somehow I failed to get the memo on the 7 a.m. arrival. Crap...5:30 departure. What part of town do you live in?
dshack
"The competition is on Stadium. Gate Keepers will have a meeting on Saturday morning at 7 so that you can be placed on the hill by 8:30." Dan
Hey Tim, sweet! I just hope that I'm not forerunning in the other lane at the same time 'cause I'll get my doors blown off. Chris Kastner (contact info in my first post) is setting everything up; drop him a line to find out what's up/sign up.

dshack
Would this be an inappropriate event at which to run gates for the first time? Chris told me I can do it "as long as can finish", but I don't want to screw up the course.
Art
I wouldnt worry about it. Just run at your speed, stay standing up and enjoy the experience. Its been done in softies and plates, good and bad with everything in between.
