Guest DarkClone
The snow conditions on Sat. were very good. Two inches of fresh on groomed perfection. Only problem they only groomed half of Silver and Geronimo was not groomed at all. The pow was fun but not deep enough to be a true powder day. They had a big contest and it was the full circus event. Goofy VS. Regular put on by Etnies. Man it is unbelievable how much money the snowboard industry generates. Full scaffolding, tons of sponsor tents, free swag, huge shoulder kicker with a left and right take off. Truly unreal stuff the kids are pulling. The sun was in and out but by 11, a sunny day for the event. That unreal looking low pressure system that hit us Sat. night was a bust. It rained all day today and only snowed a little up at resort level. Hoping for clear skies Mon. and snowmaking or a low humidity sich. Tahoe is looking real good if Bear gets to soft. garyj
Hi Jim, how was SES this year?
Guest DarkClone
Hello Garyj. Well the SES was definetly one of the best for sure! Took a Delta flight with layover in Salt Lake. He came in way too hot in Aspen and really had to put on the brakes HARD!! No runway left when he took the turn to taxi. OK got that out of the way. First day was great at Buttermilk, good carving with some snow showers and some sun. Tues. groom perfection at Highlands with 3 inches of fluff on top. Wed. was the day at Highlands and can you say BLUEBIRD!! Hooked up in the afternoon with some great carvers like Norm who calls Heavenly his local spot. This guy RIPS and is so flexible people call him gumby. Also gets air everywhere. His friend also ripped and girlfriend Diana put a lot of guys to shame. Tim from Oregon also ripped. Storm came in and Thursday was unreal pow at Snowmass. Boy is that resort huge. Friday was just great at Buttermilk in suprisingly good packed groomed corduroy with full sun. Rode with John Gilmore for a few runs who is behind Madd snowboards and he blew my mind with his riding. All in all just a great time and the banquet Friday night was the perfect way to end the sesh. See you on the hill. Jim P.
