I now have a problem...when i try to step in with my heel the bail wont latch to the hell leaving me with nothing to lock into. I took it to one of the shops around here and the guys there didnt have much of an idea of what they were doing since it was one of the first alpines they had seen. Also, the bail comes up but the heel just wont catch on and lock in. I am still going to take it to another shop around here to see if they can do anything. Speed Demon Posted April 8, 2004 Author Report Share Posted April 8, 2004 Regular bindings: Regular bale bindings usually have a wire bale at the heel, and a toe clip at the front. To engage, place your boot heel into the heel bale, and lean down and manually flip the front toe bale to lock in the boots. You often need to be on a relatively flat surface when engaging regular bindings. This is what The Carvers Almanac says about regular bindings, but i was told differently. What with that? Just bring your softboot rig as insurance in case they can't get it straightened out. See the recent Crystal Mountain WA thread for details.
