NateW
Whoa, now you've gotta elaborate on this...here or a new thread.... Well, since you asked.... :) Basically, start with an Axxess 172 and: narrow the waist to 19cm (for the stance angles I want, 21cm is excessive) 13m radius (for the speeds I like, the standard 10.2m is too turny) no taper (no reason) 9.0 stiffness (because my ARoss FC 180, at 8.8, was almost stiff enough) Should be shipped early next week. With a little luck I might ride it next weekend. I plan to ride it pretty much all the time in all conditions, except for special occasions that beg for a powder board (fresh snow, no jumps), or a race board (fresh corduroy, no jumps, no bumps, no crowds). BlueB
So, actually it's a freecarver with bigger nose and tail...
NateW
Yeah, or an all-mountain board with a freecarvey waist and sidecut. Same results either way. I'm looking for the best of both worlds: nice fast turns on-piste, and no trouble riding off-piste or backwards.
Fastskiguy
Cool! Let us know if it does all it is supposed to when you get it!
BlueB
It already exist - roundtail Prior WCR...
NateW
I've been keeping an eye out for a round-tailed WCR in the 'for sale' section, but I suspect the tails on those boards are fairly similar to the tail on my F2 183, which isn't quite enough to make me comfortable riding switch in less-than-ideal conditions. Anyway, the new board showed up Thursday, I had the edges beveled on Friday (1/1), waxed it at home, and rode it Saturday. I'm very happy with it.
