patagonic_carver
My son is 9 years old and he's riding an alpine snowboard since last year. He started snowboarding when he was 4. Now, he wants to race in real snowboard courses and not only NASTAR's. How competitive/intense is USASA? It's good to compete, I agree, but I don't want to miss all the fun we have riding together. ncermak
Ultimately it depends on the series, But the top of a snowboard is much different than the top of a ski race, much more laid back, and much more fun. I would definitely recommend trying it. USASA has a trial membership rate ($35) which is good for two events. If you decide to continue, then you can pay the rest of the membership (full Membership = $75) What region are you in? If you are near Massachuesetts, you should come to our race this weekend at eaglebrook. check out www.ridemass.org, and www.usasa.org -Noah
patagonic_carver
Thanks, we'd love to go to Mass but it won't be possible this time. We are in Virginia. Anyway, I'll register him as a trial member. Thanks for the tip.
