skategoat
I'm going to be in Sedona, AZ next March. What's the closest, really good ski resort to there?

skategoat
Wow, 2,300 vertical drop, 9,200 base elevation and I've never heard of the place.

LeeW
sunrise sucks, imo. they're so anal about jumps, EVEN little jumps. -eyes rolling- but thats my opinion on customer perspective. however as for risk management perspective, i think its an excellent approach to minimize the risk/litigation. carver
Skate: Don't plan on it! I live in Prescott and have only been there one time in 3 years. Last year they were only open for 6 days. This year for 27? The closet places are Telluride or Durango. Good luck. Oh, a weekend is so crowded it is not worth it.
RDY_2_Carve
If you end up opting for Telluride or Durango consider coming out my way. Ski Santa Fe had some excellent conditions the past few March's. It's ~4 hours from Flagstaff to ABQ and I'll take care of you from there... skategoat
Thanks for all the info and the offer RDY. I have a few months to make plans. Gotta figure out how I'm gonna get golf clubs and snowboards on the plane.
Shred Gruumer
I usually end up in Phoenix every year around March .. so I have taken a weekend trip up to Sedona and Flagstaff when Im there.. Its a hit or miss with that place.. Since a certain ethic group controls the land..there is no snowmaking there ,.. the season takes forever to get going.. not a carving hill... but can be done!.. Oh.. its called the Arizona Snowbowl.. but I always say what the heck... to say you rode in Arizona...is a hoot! climb the top and your at 12,366 ft.. Amazing for AZ!
