neil sunday Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 phil, congrats on your athletes doin' well... Quote
Seb Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 Phil, You are totally true. To be on the podium, you need skills. Through the 10 runs ( or 8 for women ) you need not to loose an edge or anything like that. A 40 second run leaves more place to errors on both sides, only the best ones go to the end. The "Quebec Provincial team", the home crowd favorite, pleased their people presents, with Constance Boisvert 1st and 3rd and Liliane Halme 3rd, Ben Dargis 3rd. I personnally found the 2 days in Le Relais as perfect set-up for races. Weather was great, course set-up men did a great job as no ice or "deep" ruts were present, etc. Seb Quote
wavechaser Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 Hey Phil - a little OT, but i plan to race in my first Nor-Am (at 44) at Bromley in March. What is the format for the paralell races. Is it just like at WC level - i.e. two run qualifying and then head-to-head knock-out format for the final 16 racers? Quote
philfell Posted January 21, 2007 Author Report Posted January 21, 2007 Similar to the World Cup but a little different. In the World Cup only the top 16 (32 total athletes) from each course gets a second run. They make a new start list based on times, then do the second run (slowest first, fastest last). Then the top 16 combine time make finals. In the Nor-Ams everyone gets a second run and the top 16 combine time make finals. Quote
wavechaser Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 Cool - thank you. It would of course be a miracle for me to make the final 16, but at least I'll get two runs for my money!! Quote
RobRidesSquaw Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 Good Job Garret, sick getting on the podium... Quote
