hdhu1152
Hi Bought a TD1 Stepin last season from this site and mounted it on my Virus Black Death. Unfortunately the TD1 only allows angles up to 70 degrees and for narrow boards (Virus Cyborg is 14 cm wide) this is not sufficient. So now I got a TD1 Stepi in Skwal binding that is great. I am using purple rubbers on the bindings. Question: Has anyone tried to ride the TD1 without rubbers ? Theoretically the board will flex better (more naturally) w/o them. Any suggestions / experiences ? Thanx Ed
fin
Yes, you can run the TD1 with out the bumpers. And you are correct it will allow the board to flex more under the binding. The only issue might be that with out the bumpers you also increase the lever effect of the binding on the inserts of the board which may damage the inserts. However, the Skwal type boards do rely more on lateral (side) forces from the boot and binding so it may not be as big an issue with your set-up. Your choice and worth trying but officially I would not recommend it ;)
