tahoecarver
Season seems soooooo late. Should I even bother getting my Northstar pass now and chance it this weekend, or wait another couple of weeks? I'd hate to pay 6 bills for 5 lifts and 10-tourist packed runs...any feedback would be appreciated. Maybe another resort has better conditions and crowds right now (i.e. K'wood?). Maybe I have to wait until the new year...
jnshapiro
I've ridden 3 days at Kirkwood now. Got my pass a few weeks ago on the first trip up. Sunday I'm heading to Alpine to ride with a friend. Conditions haven't been great, but it's sure been good to get out and ride!
Randy T.
I've been to Rose twice but only with the soft boots and that was before they opened the lift to the top. I'm supposed to have races both days this weekend at Donner so I'll be ditching work Friday morning and taking the carving gear to Rose for some practice. Guest kennyusmc
I haven't gone yet..have my double whammy with vert plus, looks like some decent snow will fall this weekend and they are still runnign thier snowguns. I hate dirty snow, but my friends have gone and said what is open is great at Nstar. Sugar bowl is super crispy with the western winds freezing it at night. I like sugarbowl once in while. And that is my tahoe report... oh I work for the Forest Service and Kirkwood is in my district, I hate that drive carson pass and carson spur have the worst winds, and since CALTRANS put in the new passing lanes accidents will be at an all time high. Hagen
...you might want to check the north shore series website before you drive to donner. Looks like the Sunday race might not happen and they changed the Saturday race to be a slalom. If snow levels don't come down they might have to scrap the race on Sat. as well. ...seems like that happens every year to the early races. Good luck, Hagen. Hagen
...just checked the website again and for now the races won't happen unless they get a foot of snow before the weekend. They'll make a final decision on Friday.
Sinecure
The Far West / Open League races that were scheduled for Alpine this weekend got cancelled today. I'd bet a small amount of money that USASA ends up XLing also. It looks like we're going to get some good snow in the next 36 hours. That's a good thing because otherwise it would have been a skating rink after the recent rain. We'll see how it goes this weekend. I'll be at Alpine.
