  1. Really cool looking boards utahcarver, mine are a bit less natural looking:D

Right now i ride two boards, the skull skates is for tooting arround town and the rayne is hopefully going to be my fun board.

Skull Skates Flow Dart, i think its 46 inches long, on randal 180s and gumball wheels.

My other board is kinda in transit and at home, its a Rayne Blunt with Crail Speed Trucks and some sort of wheel, havent decided.

  2. Since there isnt snow in Ontario all year long i like to partake in summer board activities. This activity is longboarding.

    Does anyone here longboard?

If so, what kind of setup are you running?

  3. I sometimes wear a helmet.

For example if im just going to a small place with no people and easy runs, i tend not to bring it. But if im going out to a bigger place or riding more challenging runs or im in the park i'l bring my helmet. When i bike and longboard i usually wear a helmet. Concussions arent fun, and i have had one too many.

  4. Cool, glad to hear your first day went well, it only gets better!!

What would you tell others thinking about trying alpine snowboarding??

    Enjoy!!

Id tell them to get out and enjoy it, since its slowly dying, here on ontario

    perfect turns

    deep carves

    ooohoho im in love

  5. Today was my first day out on the alpine board, and let me say

i loved it, the first couple of runs were a bit sketchy as i got used to the angles and stiffness.

But after about the fifth run i got the hang of it. Nailing turns, no sliding at all, just have to say the the feeling of carving a nice big wide hill is amazing.

I had soo much fun in fact that im going again tomorrow !!!

and hopefully the hangover wont happen.

  6. Thanks again guys, im heading to blue sometime next week (winter break) and im gonna bring a screw driver with me and gradually increase the angles as ther day progresses. Hopefully it'll work and il be fine.

  7. Hey guys,

I now have everything i need to start carving, boots, board and a set of race plates. Now i have one question, What would be an ideal angle to set my bindings at? I have been snowboarding for some time now and carving on that board is not a problem. If it matters the board is a burton FP 5.7 with a 27mm sidecut and a 200 mm waist. The boots are suzukas 30.5, 239mm sole.

    Thanks in advance

    Vic.

  8. yeah i wanted ot bump it but for some reason, or my stupidity i couldn't find it. Il send the email and hopefully everything fits :)

Ahhh i want to get out riding, this is killing me:smashfrea

    thanks for the info

    what might the email be?

I looked in contact but i found a bunch of them.

  9. Well it could be the candle you are using.

Usually when i petex bases at the shop i clean it out first, and if necessary i use a cutter to widen up the cut. I then proceed to candle it, try to minimize the red/orange flame, the more blue flame the better. try to get a steady stream with it (like braze welding if you know how to weld). youd want to pile it up a bit, maybe have it a few mm over the base. Let it cool for about a minutes or two and then scrape it with a metal scraper, be slow so you dont loosen the petexed area. scrape base and then you shouldnt be able to see it. Hope that helped, any other questions just ask.
