Monodude welcome. Curious have you tried a TeleBoard yet? If you are after the carve thrill the teleboard is great for carving using tele ski bindings.
How do you get your board on the toeside edge with free-heel bindings?

It's the black/red/yellow scribble paint. I didn't look at the base, but the top looked ok. It had wear but no big problems.

I think Burton bindings might go up to 16? I say this because I have a set of Variplates, and at MP30 feet I still have two clicks of expansion left on the blocks! I think it's because Burton boots had a larger length between the toe/heel shelves(?) So a 16 Raichle-type boot might fit.

I have a 23.8cm Coiler on order. I have MP30 feet and I don't like high angles... as of now.

god I hope early season BC hikers are careful. that much snow on top of what...several cycles of thaw/freeze on a minimal surface...bad news

Can I still get those Freecarve disks for $50? It's a little steep but the only option I guess.

I wonder if the same applies to Conform'able foam-injected liners. I can't tell whether the outside of the liner has also been molded.

Seems to me there should be something in the middle, not freestyle, not alpine. Something like a 25/10 stance on a directional board

Ah, Isn't this freeride? ;) Freeride boards are directional, and are made to be ridden with non-duck stances, although I suppose that possibly the majority of riders do so anyway.

Looks like the oxygen website is gone. It was at http://www.oxygensnowboards.com/
It hadn't been updated since 2002. They are now owned by Atomic. According to Carver's Almanac, the Proton is sold at blue-tomato.com

This is something I have given some thought to... I think the only thing that matters as far as leverage is concerned is over/underhang (and binding angles). I don't think the center disk or any other interface on the boot/binding matters.
