  1. How do you put on a four-buckle pair of hardboots? When I was in the shop for a boot fitting, I started at the bottom and they said don't. I recall reading somewhere that you start in the middle. Wearing them yesterday, I noticed it made a huge difference if the boot was flexed at all. Flex or not while buckling? Sorry if these are stupid questions, but I'm having a hard time (re)adjusting to the fit and pain hardboots, and I haven't even worn them on the mountain yet.
  2. I see a combination of US Men's and Mondo sizing for soft boots. Should I ignore the US sizing? Is it brand-specific? I'm definately a mondo 26.5 (confirmed by boot fitters), which works out to something like 8.5 US in some of the combined size charts for softies. Trouble is, I'm definately a 10.5 US street shoe; my motorcycle boots are even size 11. My 10.5 works out to mondo 28 or 29 on those charts, way too long. I'm really only interested in Salomon Malamutes, maybe F24 or something similarly stiff. Should I go by the Salomon mondo size or US size?
  3. Fox Racing and other brands of motocross shorts can be found at motorcycle shops for around $30-40. They are lycra/spandex with removable hip (sometimes tail) pads.
  4. A skier on the home page? What's up with that? That would be me. (Not junior or lightweight, but curious.) My interest is piqued.
  5. What Speedzilla said. Except on a four-suck, er four-stroke, motor I'd change the oil after the first ride, then again later. Let it get up to temperature before putting it under a load. (This is true always.) Don't rev it in neutral. Don't let it get warm/hot. Don't lug it. (I understand lugging it is worse than revving it.) Give it light loads, like accelerating up a slight incline. Light loads probably means no passenger. The best part about break-in for a street bike is that a twisty road is the perfect place for it. That's just the motor. You wanna know how to break in tires and brake pads, too? :o
  6. Sure doesn't look like a freestyle tail.
  7. Can anybody tell me more about this board? It's in the U.S. and supposedly it's a 2004.
