I love the FD RX7! Such a timeless beauty.

I assume from your username that you're sticking with a rotary engine? I'd love one of those with a more conventional engine!

I Had an RX7 turbo and loved it... there is one here in town that has an LSX swap in it. Hottt.

let me know if you’re still looking.

  3. Center the boots with heal & toe to the edges as said above.  I have big ole 29.5 Track 700 feet and with SI sidewinders on 6* cants I run 60/60 on my Kessler K168 with 200mm stock width with no overhang.  Flush in the rear and a little room to spare up front.

I decided to trust the dimples and do a test drill.  Found 1 full set!

4 holes for front and 4 for rear.

Will post pics and measurements later for others.

Here’s some pics and reference points for the 185

There were very feint Dimples on the topsheet that marked the inserts.

The 1st Of the front set of inserts is 76.5 cm back from the tip.  The 1st of the rear inserts is 126.5 cm back from the tip.

The inserts have a little material left to massage - will wait til post Covid-19 and use a tap to clean them up.

  5. Anyone have a Kessler 185 with 4x4 inserts?     Hoping someone could measure from the tip of the board to the 4x4 holes and same from the tail

Any details would be so great!

I can see indents where I think at least a 4x2 pattern is there - your measurements would help me confirm I’ve likely got it right.

    1967 mustang named "Betty"

347 stroker motor, 3 speed c4 manual valve body transmission built by Dynamic in CT.  Locked rear end 4.11 rear gears (not fun to turn) lol

ran 12.6 in the 1/4  people always bother you where you go, and ask if it's fast and if it can do a burnout.

2005 ducati 749 dark good fun great conversation piece

2004 40th anniversary mustang gt.  lame and slow but loud and people like it.  smh

I had a built New Edge Mustang too... with an MMR 1000 race engine and Vortech YSI blower - only stock parts left on  it were body panels lol

  7. Hey folks

Could use some help locating the 4x4 or 4x2 inserts in my new to me Kessler 185.

I had heard that a magnet can be used to find the inserts - but I've not had any luck with that - can't even get the magnet to notice the UPM inserts that are exposed (may be stainless?)

My topsheet has light impressions that line up exactly with my bindings - so I tried a very small drill hole on one to check it out.  It seems to hit a layer of metal just under the P-tex top sheet - and that looks right when I compare to the UPM holes that are drilled.

Decided to stop there and check for insight from others before I push on.

I've attached a pic of the 185 beside my 168 and also a shot of the 185 topsheet with the light impressions circled as a reference.

Any help or experiences would be great!

Looks like the same pivot points with a different adapter to the board.

Apex makes the All-Flex mounting hardware - it has the pivot points out at the ends with the mounting attachments and bumpers underneath where the bindings mount.  It was suppose to come with center mounts that are optional to reduce the amount of board flex away from the plate it will allow (they suggest trying it without first) - my package arrived from Apex missing the optional center mounting hardware.

Apex has not responded yet to send the other parts.  Thinking I will prefer it without anyway.

  9. I use Motorola 2 way radio's and add the Motorola 53724 Remote Speaker with Microphone.

The remote mic works great as you can hear even while riding from the speaker - and with the big push to talk button on the side - easy to respond and no need to take mitts off. Easy for kids to use too.

To mount the mic on kids jackets I added a wrap of duct tape to one side of a safety pin... pin it to the chest/lapel of the coat and clip the clip the mic to the duct taped side of the pin.
