No snow,..No new carving videos,...No carving news, so I guess it's just natural to buy carving gear to control the urge for the sport we love. I couldn't resist either and so I just picked up a new proton 172 and I don't even really know if I'm gonna use it. :(

Thanks RJ

Anybody with experience on these boards? Are they very different than Factory Primes?
-
Randy,
You must be bored. I see you replying to so many threads lately. Hmm,..where is D-sub>?
p.s. I am bored too,..where is the snow?
-
Ladia has already a virus (was it lightning?),...I wonder if he is keeping it now that he is looking into pogos,....
-
Thanks Jim. That was one of the reasons I couldn't afford to make a big offer on this one. By the way, I got my kirkwood seasonpass again for this year. Where is snowwwwwwwww?
-
I'm interested. I tried to email you but it's not working. Email me what you are asking for it and see if we can close a deal.
-
Wow,...I haven't been checking this site for a while and now I see this.
Scott and Holly, I wish you both strength in these tough days.
-
If Chris is not interested in the board, I'd like to see a pic of base. email me the pic please.
-
Thanks Paul,

I started with 3 boards, bought and tried at least another 6 boards and then sold what I didn't like/need. Now I have 3 (different) boards again. So I guess I can't take part in your poll.

Flex is about to change to suit materals.
Bordy,
I love this topic. The common notion out there is that a stiffer board holds a better edge than a softer one. Is that true for all lengths and scr ?
anyone else having comments in this regard?

Thanks Ray.
We have to stop this thread. It makes me call Frank and place an order. I am trying to control myself:mad:
-
Ray,
What's the camber on that prototype zylon?
-
It's a beauty....I wish, I wish,...
I would have ordered one too but I'm planing on purchasing a Titan crew cab 4x4. I think my extreme series virus has to wait,....it's almost summer anyways,......
-
Congrats Dave.
Hopefully you got them back in good conditions.

looks good, but i want a true mountain board. http://www.mbs.com/
Just visited the site. How good (practical) are those hand held brakes?
-
wow,..very tempting. I need to find out whether I can get that friday off.
I'm going to post this info on tahoecarvers.com
-
My wife rides proton 149 and she loves it. She is 120 lbs. Another tahoe carver (Rhys,..rides donek slalom now) told me he also started carving on a proton 149 and I believe he is around 140 lbs.
-
That's an example of a too heavy rider for a too soft board, period.

D-Sub,
I bought an axis 177 simply just because it was available and the price was right. Now that I have tried it, it's a KEEPER for sure. It carves really really good (well, on perfect groom, I'd still take my virus but then again that's a different level of a carving board) and it's a hero on slush/choppy snow.
There are so many days when the groomers are not perfect and you definitely need a weapon for those days and axis really delivers!
-
D-Sub,
Sorry man. I hope it turns up somewhere,....
-
Civ,
I've been looking into speed skateboards and carveboards for the summer. How fast does the one in the picture go?..is that you?
-
when he says :
even Jean Nerva told me he never saw it before like this
The emphasize could have been on "like this" as the extreme carving guys do it. This should not be taken out of context.
I believe everybody agrees that we are yet to see others do it as smooth, elegant and as "extreme" laid out linked turns as the extreme carving guys do.
Exactly when to sell boards?

Chris,
You and the virus sun look "mean" in this pic.
