    Thanks much for a FABULOUS week!!! Good food, great turns, awesome pics/vids, and excellent peoples! Made for an epic end of my season! Actually got 5 more runs in after y'all left - not sure I'll be able to get out of the car when I get home tomorrow ;) See y'all at ECES next year :)

    However, I'm renting a midsized FWD car to make the drive up. Am I going to have issues on the way there, or getting around? Or is it going to be weather dependent?

    I needed to get snow tires for our new Hyundai because their "all season" tires are pure (insert your favorite expletive) in the snow, unlike my old Tarus wagon. I'll be spending two weeks in Quebec and didn't want to run into any issues like last year when there was a little dump of about 6 inches and the new car barely made it.

    By law in Quebec, vehicles are required to have actual snow tires during the winter. I've never had a problem with the SQ (Sûreté du Québec - aka police), but then again I've never gotten stuck or in an accident in the provence. They are VERY good at clearing snow, so you should be ok...

    So what are the plans for the last day (Friday, March 1st)? Riding in the morning or what? I'll have about a 10 hour drive home, so I need to decide if I'm going to leave first thing or get a room for the night and head back on Saturday morning...

    Roof top box, snow tires, and new armour have arrived. Just about ready for the trip to the Charlevoix the week before and then on to Masonville... Now if it would just stop raining and get colder around here, I might get a few more days in before hand ;)

    We saw a donek carver with deeluxe 700 from a chair but weren't able to meet.

    That would have been me for my first day out. I was on my old Axis "rock" board. Saw you guys a couple of times, but never met up and my legs were shot by 11:30 - not my quads, but those pesky peroneous longus and other little guys that haven't been worked out since last season ;)

    Ok so I would like to go ahead and propose everyone book the last week in February. That being Feb 25th to March 1st.:eplus2:

    Annual family trip to the Charlevoix region is the week before, so I'd already be in Quebec ;)

    Now about getting my wife back to DC for school...

    Owls Head was a nice ride - a bit crowded as we screwed up and booked during "American Week" (Presidents Day week when just about all of New England has school break). Now this was back when the exchange rate was much different... La Microbrasserie La Memphré in Magog has some nice beer and great food.

    Of course, I'd much rather go to Sugarloaf :D

    I demoed Sean's plate expecting not a whole lot, more curious than anything else. I began by trying to take Todd Brown's advice to ignore the stack height and weight before getting on the lift. That was tough! I felt like Quasimodo skating up to the lift, with my right leg on a stilt. I could feel the extra weight on the ride up, not bad, but it was noticeable. Took my first run and didn't really feel much of any change - Sean had warned me to watch my speed as you can loose some of your perspective about how fast you're going. Took another and again couldn't really feel a big change, good or bad. One more on the blue cruiser and thought, OK I think I like it, now what about some more pitch? Headed down Upper Standard and really started cranking out some turns - and I AM LOVING THIS THING!!!!! I finish my run cackling like some crazed wacko because I'm having so much fun!!!

    Caveat Emptor: YMMV - for me, the plate REALLY improved my riding. After chatting with Sean and Fin, I think it's because I don't feel all those twitchy little things the board does under my feet that keeps trying to tell my brain that "you are going to die!!!" As folks that know me will agree, I'm a wee bit risk adverse:rolleyes: Fin calls plates the "smoothenator" and he's absolutely correct.

    So after a day of riding on the demo, I told Sean I want one NOW and bought one, that's how much I liked it. I admit that I didn't demo the Bomber version. While I admire Fin's engineering quality, I just couldn't justify the price uplift.

    I also demoed Fin's "TD3 BP 2nd Board Kit" that gives you a slightly lower overall stack height by replacing the TD3 E-ring with a much thinner BP E-ring and reducing the thickness of both the cant and center disks. I liked it so much that when I got home, I ordered one.

    I didn't demo any boards 'cause the boss would KILL me if I bought another one - you know what they say, "if momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy"...
