I'm posting this here because it's sort of off topic. Mods- please delete or move as you see fit.
I recently decided I had too many boards for life here in the flat and posted what I think are a few interesting older boards for sale at affordable prices. Immediately "dibs" was called on several of them. What is the consensus on this?
Is the equipment off the market when this happens? Does the fact that a person calls dibs prevent you from expressing interest (i.e. second in line)? Is a posting essentially closed to other viewers once this happens? What happens when the dibs caller backs out? Should he go in and edit the original dibs post to reflect the item is still available?
I'm interested in your thoughts on this.

Round tail. I believe this is a true twin. Waist 9 7/8", tip/tail 11 3/4"
Note that this is not a splitboard, model is called split..

There is still camber left. Waist 9 5/8". Sorry, no metric rulers handy. Tip and tail about 11 5/8 each. Board is NOT symmetric, tail is low profile. Email sent to BlueB.

For sale 1997 Burton FP167. This is a grey topsheet board with handwritten lettering for size. I have no idea what it means. I received it as a replacement for a broken GS board. Stiff. Neon green base. Base is in great shape, topsheet has usual scuffing and nicks from racing. It's a narrow waist (19cm?) Did I mention this is stiff? I weighed ~220lb when I was racing it. $75 plus shipping.
Edit: Please note that line behind last front binding insert is a shadow - board is not broken.

The Fusion 165 was Burtons attempt at a carvy freeride/BX board. It was one of my favorites when I rode softies. This had been ridden a lot, but base is in great shape, topsheet has scuffs from clicker boots but isn't nicked up too much. $125 plus shipping. Of all the boards I'm selling I'm most attached to this one.

Tech is clueless or full of shit. Either way I'd be plenty pissed and looking (very nice and patient) for the shop management to make me whole. I've ground enough boards to know that looks a lot like a feed problem.

Bruin when you changd out the top springs how did you know how tight/far to crank down that retaining nut??
I see the bottom sprin/nut helps me adjust my cant angle which I have marked on the boot to match.....but when you changed out the top springs how did you know how tight/far to crank down that retaining nut??
Experiment a bit. Sadly you will have to go for a ride.
Start with your best guess, keep in mind that the top nut will put force on both top AND bottom springs. It's easy to make tension adjustments on the hill with your wrench.

Red on top, blue on the bottom - 242-212 lb. (Yes I'm down 30lb this year). I tried all blues and all reds and didn't like either. This works for me and I see I'm not alone.

They aint cheap, but they never wear out either. Most any shop can get them or online through any of their dealers. I prefer 1/2 degree base and 90 degree side - I know that's not the norm so take it with a grain. A gummy is nice to have too.

Follow-up:
I went to my local (and friendly) ski shop. They threw a pair of the spacers at me for free and sent me on my way. I cut them to fit under the liners and bam. Ahhh, much snugger at the end of the day. It's always amazing to me what a few mm can do for fit.

I think it's folly to have hard and fast rules. Sometimes people need help getting started and that's fine; they should know they can change if they think it's wrong.
