  1. Weather is finally looking like its going in the right direction. Noticed this was up on the Buck site:

    http://www.buckhill.com/winter/carvingcup.shtml

Hopefully this is before opening weekend. I would like to try this out this year.

We need to get a Buck Hill video on that site.....Bobble and others have taken footage in past years. Good luck everyone - wish the Race to the Cup Riders could be in two places at once....but Steamboat calls.

  2. ...my son Patrick rides 48 degress rear and 56 degrees front. Board is 19.5, 180 cm for GS. Same everything for SL - board is a 163. No cant in front - 3 degrees rear in same direction as binding angle....though considering moving cant over 1 or 2 degrees to flatten out boot.

  3. Excuse me for the thread jack. Where did you hear this? And yes, I reckon it was visa/h2b issue a few years back, but I didnt know about the canada part.

...at Copper last year. Sean is a UK citizen so no VISA issues getting to Canada. It seemed plausible. Haven't heard from him though.....so truly do not know. Hope that he is doing well.

  4. Sean McCarron would be an option? Didn't he have VISA issues last year and ended up in Canada?

My 17 year old is/was looking at Westminster in SLC as an option for college because of the ability to train with Park City....

    Is Garrett still there?

  5. 07/08 season. Board was made when a 163 was still considered a custom board....was not part on the standard line up at that time. Ridden not even one season. The rider moved to a Kessler that summer and kept it as a backup board. Just received his second Kessler so no need for the Prior now.

    Will send a private email.

  6. Thought that it was slightly more stable than his VIST plates, but much easier to mount / un-mount as compared to the VIST and its' 24+ screws. Conditions are less than optimal, initial reaction says there will be some VIST plates on the classifieds when Fin goes into production. The Happy Fun Plates were obviously made wit the race/regular TD3s in mind so he said the set up seemed natural and appropriate.

He hot scraped to get the crud off the base - says it worked well. Just hope he put enough back on......

  7. .....so not the best communicator! :) I spoke to him on Wednesday when he was on the lift. It was raining and he was soaked. He told me the "snow was brown." After only a couple of hours on snow he told me he was sure we would need to send his new Kessler back to Mike DiSantis before the season starts. But - he's having a blast with his coaches and the rest of the riders. He said that he spent some time talking to Chris Klug and Anton Pogue - so I think the US Team might be there as well. He broke his collar bone training the week before USASA Nationals so he is just thankful to be back on snow. I doubt we will get any pictures.....just hope all his gear makes it home!

Should hear more as the week progresses.

  9. Thank you. My son left today for his trip to Hood meeting up with his teammates and coaches in Portland. First summer trip - he's psyched to try out new gear, ride a new mountain and see old friends he normally only gets to see at races. Now when he calls I will feel like I am there.

  10. .....was able to get to a shop today that had the Swix version called "Glacier Wax." Also sending CH 6, CH 7, Dominator Race Zoom and base prep in case there is a need to hot scrape off the rocks! Hope that the Glacier Wax works - like the $8 price tag for 20 g.

    Thanks again!
