  1. This 179 Hooger is in perfect condition. It is one of the sweetest rides I've ever had. I rode it for years and it is still a sweet ride. Here are the stats:

    Tip 24.4cm

    Waist 17.8cm

    Tail 22.8cm

    Radius 11m

Weight range - The board has a very soft flex so 140 lbs and less

Now some will dismiss this as only of interest to collectors but this would be a great board for a light woman or young rider. The board is VERY user friendly and forgiving. It has very sweet carving characteristics. The soft flex makes it perfect for a light weight rider who is developing their carving. The board is in perfect shape but has many days of riding on it and no longer holds on ice like it used to. Anyway, you get the idea. It's a forgiving board for a lightweight rider developing their carving or a lightweight rider that wants a long board to use in softer snow. SOLD

  2. I love this board and rode it's twin for a few years. This one has been ridden 5 days. It is in perfect condition. I held on to it as a backup but now it's time to clean out the closet. The stats:

    Tip 24.0cm

    Waist 19.5cm

    Tail 24.0cm

    Radius 14m

Oxygen lists the rider weight range as 60 to 100 Kilos. The board has a stiff flex. $200 plus shipping

  3. My "clean out the closet" sale is down to 2 boards.

156 Ultra Prime. Waist - 19.3. Sidecut - 10.52. This board is in mint condition and a great value. $100 plus shipping.

160 Nitro Fusion. Waist 24.2cm. This is a 1995 all mountain board. I rode this for years with soft boots for powder and love this board. I also taught many friends to snowboard on this board. It is a perfect board to learn to snowboard on. It has a nicely shaped tip for powder but can be used as a freestyle board. It is also very friendly to carve on...even with soft boots. This is an ideal board for a kid or girl that wants a great powder board or an all mountain board. The board is in excellent condition. All base dings have been repaired as they happened over the years...The board had lots of TLC. The top is also in excellent shape considering it is 14 years old. $50 plus shipping.

  4. I rode a 172 Proton exactly like this one for a few years and loved it. I consider the board to be quite stiff...The proton is very stable and a very friendly board to ride. The Proton flexes much stiffer than the Limited Edition.

I also weigh 140 and loved my 172 Proton as it was always stable and especially showed it's stuff in variable conditions where it would knife through piles of broken snow. It holds well on ice.

Bryan has a Virus that he rides that is stiffer than this Proton.

  5. I have a "clean out the closet" sale going on. I love all 5 of these boards...I just have too many and I have others that I love more so as much as I'd love to keep them...time to sell. Post or email me any questions for more details on any of the boards...or more pictures.

172 Coiler All Mountain. Waist - 21.5. Sidecut - 10.5m. I'm the original owner of this board. It was made for an aggressive rider 145 lbs. It has about 12 days on it and is in perfect condition. The top has marks from the binding mounting. The base and edges are perfect. It has a small split tail that Bruce put on a few boards. It does work to allow the tail of the board to sink in powder without having to weight your back foot so much. Sold.

172 Oxygen Proton. Waist - 19.5. Sidecut - 14m. This board is in mint condition. These Protons are great boards and very under rated...IMHO. I rode another one just like it for a few years and always loved it. SOLD

170 Oxygen Limited Edition. Waist 18.4. Sidecut 12m. This is a great board and a lot of fun. I think this would be a perfect board for a smaller guy or girl. I rode it one day only...I loved it but I love my other boards more because they are longer and better at speed. It is in perfect condition. Sold.

156 Ultra Prime. Waist - 19.3. Sidecut - 10.52. This board is in mint condition and a great value. $100 plus shipping.

160 Nitro Fusion. Waist 24.2cm. This is a 1995 all mountain board. I rode this for years with soft boots for powder and love this board. I also taught many friends to snowboard on this board. It has a nice shaped tip for powder but can be used as a freestyle board. It is also very friendly to carve on...even with soft boots. This is an ideal board for a kid or girl that wants a great powder board or an all mountain board. The board is in excellent condition. 7. I suppose it would be a good set up for you for a day or two on an easy slope but quickly you would want something longer and stiffer.

The board and bindings are a good value but are appropriate for a small girl or a kid...someone weighing 110 lbs or less or a light person who is just starting out.

As much as I'd like to sell the board, I wouldn't feel right selling it to you unless your wife or kid was also going to be using the board. Then I'd say," fine, you can use the board to give alpine riding a try...with the assumption that you'd buy a more appropriate board after the trial period and your wife or kid inherit the Generic."

  8. I met Jim at last years SES. He was as much fun riding up the chair as he was to carve with. He was so enthusiastic and happy to be there in Aspen. He told me many great stories about surfing, snowboarding and his family. He'd been married for 30 years or more yet still spoke of his wife like they were young people in love. He went on and on about his teenage son. His son's snowboarding, teen romances and school work were all things we talked about.

As much as a kid at heart Jim was, he totally embraced his role as a father and husband. Meeting and riding with Jim was one of the highlights of SES '08 for me.
