  1. I'm looking for something in the 160's or 70's preferably a wide Speed if anyone has one. I've ridden both boards and loved them, but everything keeps breaking. So if you know of something that rides similar that might be better suited for an agressive 230lb rider, let me know what you have. I'm also in the market for some burton race plates.

  2. I learned to ski at Mt. Brighton. ( see opening of Aspen Extreme ) Had a pass at Alpine Valley when I was in college at Univ o Toledo. For those of you that don't know, Mt Brighton is 300 vert of trash.... no really!! It's a couple of lifts built on a landfill!!

    Ahhh the memories....

Mt.Brighton was never a land fill, that's just a rumor started because of the opening lines of Aspen Extreme. I'd love to see some proof of your claim, because all of the research I've ever done tells me that it was not a land fill.

  3. I was riding up a lift and this guy that had been making pretty good turns all day, that i would call basically GS style, caught an edge right next to a lift pole and veered right into it. It was the pole on of the lift i was on right in front of me. The sound of bones cracking like that, and the ding that the lift pole made, is something i never want to hear again. He hit it probably doing about 40 is my guess, and i never heard what came of it, but he was air lifted.

  4. i guess i should be more specific, i'm not looking for stuff to read personally, and i have gone through this site over and over again. a friend of mine is just getting into soft booting, and i thought some reading on technique would keep her thinking about how she can improve. thanks again for any responce.

  5. yeah when the board broke, like i said i rode away fine, when the binding broke i was cruising some flats and ran into the edge of a groomer track in the middle of the hill and it basically tripped me, when i hit the ground my boot popped off the board, so i thought the binding released, but when i looked down the binding was still on my foot. the next thought was that i tore the inserts out, but then i looked at the board and the plate was still on it with a big chunk missing. i was happy it happened when i was going slow. the crappy part of that was riding stomp pad all the way back to my truck to get my skis out and finish the day, i was having too much fun on the board for that to happen.

  6. okay so way tail heavy was a bit of an exageration, call it the back seat, cause i still rode away, board underneith me. Yes they both did happen at the same time, the suprising thing is it only bent the metal edge and the base has a little crease in it.

This is the UltraPrime a 162, at the time i was going 185 lbs so i might have been a tad bit heavy for the board but it rode great.

As for the bindings, yeah some old burton plates, actually i just broke one of those at the beginning of this season...

    or here

and they were tight to the board i am certain it didn't happen because they were loose or something.

I was really just curious if any of you had ever seen breaks like that and in more than one place at the same time and whatnot. It's fun to ride a board hard and all but now i get a little scaired that it's going to happen again.

  7. I was just curious if any of you had ever seen a board break like this, both happened at the same time when i was switchen edges in the air over a little drop and landed way tail heavy. What are your thoughts and all that good stuff?

sorry about the picture quality, the one on the top is right behind the back binding inserts, and its pretty clear where that little hole is in the bottom picture.
