  1. I'm sitting here in Utah

The Wasatch Front, ground zero in the Land of Zion

    Looking up Little Cottonwood Canyon

Feeling a bit nostalgic, waiting for the UPS man...

At least I can breathe the air today!

Thinking of the good ole days

    When it used to DUMP

100" before Thanksgiving, 100" base before Christmas, 100" in 3 days...

Did it really happen?  Lift serviced bottomless?

    What day is it anyway...

I was on my "phone" the other day

    Christmas shopping for myself again...

It's a bad habit, we all have our faults

    A "link" found me somehow

    The mysteries of the Internet

    The World Wide "Web"

    A Book

    A Coffee Table Book

(Disclaimer:  I have absolutely nothing to do with the book.  I know not the author nor the publisher.  No affiliation with Amazon or anyone anywhere)

    Snow Beach-Snowboard Style 1986-1996

So, I pre-ordered my copy one day before the release date

    Just received my delivery confirmation

Will it include the iconic pic of Damian Sanders?

    A token nod to hardboots?

Above the lip hand plant between the feet toe side rail grab

    Pink hardboots in the half-pipe!

Eventually officially banned from all future competition???

I'm sure the trick has a name, claim it and name it!

No doubt some of you will recall

I was never a Jibber or a Bonker

Didn't skate pools, parks or pipes (or ramps)

We bombed hills and did bicycle assist tow-ins...

I swore I would NEVER do a trick on my snowboard

    My claimed style:  "Eurohuckingfreecarver"

Of course I ended up doing tricks, Tweaky AND Fakey...

The ongoing discussion regarding "surfy" style has been interesting

I grew up at the beach

I am more of a snow surfer than a snow skater

While I may ride the softest "hard" boots and have a "carvy" style,

I would never consider myself a hardboot carver

That is a whole 'nuther level

    Style evolves as equipment does

The expression influenced by the character and quality of the snow and terrain

On it...IN it...or over it, these are the questions!

Our sport has been around long enough to have a history now

    There are niches

The Frenchmen simply called snowboarding "Le Surf"

    What's old becomes new again

Some interesting surf inspired shapes happening right now, the innovation continues...

Snurfer becomes noboard which devolve back to Snurfer again

An Evolution, A Revolution!  We have hardboot specific splitboard equipment!

We now have Snow Beach-Hardboot edition...IMGP0567.JPGIMGP0569.JPG
