    Good morning Loopback!

If you still have the Coiler, PM me, I'd be interested, it looks like a good starting board for my son.

    I got the boards yesterday.

Huge shout out to @iav8 for arranging to get these from Barrie to Ottawa!!

    -The Coiler:

The Coiler is in the best shape by far. It is a 2009 PRC with Titanal. Built for 150lbs or less (if I am decoding Bruce's SN# properly)

It was built for the previous owner

    It is in 8/10 shape

  2. I was at Calabogie 2 weeks ago and at Pakenham last night, Calabogie was awesome, great conditions and good grooming. Pak was kind of Shitty due to the weather last week, hard and icy but  I had a few good turns.

I think Michael and I will be hitting Pak next Saturday. Anyone going to Cascade this week?

  3. A quick review if anyone is heading out.

Pakenham conditions were incredible on Tuesday morning. Unfortunately it was Pakenham, so not enough pitch or elevations, but well groomed and perfect edging snow pack. They only have Exhibition open and a few small runs off of it, I expect Slalom will be open shortly. For those of you who don't know, Slalom and exhibition are the two runs on the far left if you are looking at the hill from the bottom.

Spent all day a Calabogie today (Wednesday), most everything to the right (looking at the hill from the bottom) of the Tigers face is open, however some runs are narrow and have patches of dirt nuggets.  However, O'Brians Fancy and Barretts Chutes are open and in good condition. Both had small sections that had dirt nuggets or ice patches but I had no problem avoiding them. We spent most of the day on those two runs. A pretty solid day considering conditions.

Both places had guns and groomers running all day, but it will be interesting to see what happens in the next couple days.

  4. Fashionably late as  always. Sadly, the only time people use my name, and fashion, in the same thought.

I'm not going to purchase a pass this year at any of the QC hills, I basically just break even with them most years anyway, I'll pay as I go. However, I still have a Pak pass, and will probably be at Calabogie a fair bit.

I would still like to meet up with the carvers as much as possible, so pick a night, and pick a hill, advertise it, and I'll do my best to be there as much as possible!

On the down side, I sadly joined the real world and have a 9-5, Gov job.

So no more 40+ days on the hills for me...  :(

  5. Maybe try posting in the Quebec section, there might be someone close by that could lend you spare parts/bindings.  Sorry to hear, that sucks.  Keep those parts too as Fin might be interested in seeing the damage for R&D.

EDIT: duh, just checked Quebec section and noticed you already did.  Hope you find something!

Over $30CAN to ship the toe bale to me. YIKES!

Don't think I'll be shipping the broken one back to him.  Unless he asks.

Pissed and cranky about my TD3's breaking on the first run, I proceeded try and salvage the trip by putting on my brand new, first time on snow, Rossignol Slats, (twin tips) and go have some fun in the trees and the park with my son.  2 hours later, I came up a touch short on a 180 and broke the brakes off of one of the brand new bindings. GAH!

Not a great first day. Managed to salvage some of it though. Crap ton of fresh POW today helped.

  7. Hey folks,

Minor emergency, first run on a four day boarding trip to Ste Anne/ Massif, I broke a toe bale on my TD3's. Anyone know where I can get a replacement in Quebec city? The threading broke inside the mounting casing so I will possibly need one of those as well.

I figure this is a long shot, and I'm going to have to spend the next four days in the park on skis with my son, but if anyone has any ideas, I'd be glad to hear them.

    Shitty twitter picture included.

  9. I'm out for tonight at Cascades. Sunday morning was awesome at Edelweiss, I am going to try Wednesday night there again this week instead.

FYI for all...it is Quebec March break this week but not Ontario. I have no clue how this will impact crowds at Cascades or Edelweiss though.

Quebec March break this week but not Ontario  Uggh, forgot about that. For the record, I'll be at Calabogie all day Friday.

  10. I love fall... you know why, right? 'Cause it leads to winter :D

While it's true that I'll have other priorities later in the season (a baby mid-Feb!), I'm already getting my stoke on about being back out on snow. For a resort choice this year, I'm pretty flexible. I would enjoy the day-time pass at Cascades on my Mondays off, but it's not a deal-breaker for me. Vorlage, Cascades, and Edelweiss are all good options, and riding with friends is the bestest part :D.

Thanks to Tabby for leading the conversation.

    Cheers!

WOW Congrats on the impending baby Ian!

// voted for Cascade, but don't really care. Boarding takes priority, any hill, any time!

  11. So excited to ride!

    Hello Ottawa!

The weather is cold with frost warnings already so it is the perfect time to be thinking about buying lift tickets. I have agreed to try and organize the ski pass this year - Cascade gang-up on the mountain! We need ten people to get the $89.00 (plus taxes deal) http://www.montcascades.ca

This year we will can still get together on a selected night to slide, but we will not really have organized workshops as Ian (our fearless leader) has other priorities … although I am sure whenever we see him out he will continue to give us advice.

Let me know if you are interested and I will let you know how much and what information I need from you to make it so.

I am aiming to buy the tickets at the end of October (unless we do not have ten passes, in which case, I am going to hold out for ten so we can get the extra-sweet deal).

    Think snow!
