  2. many boardmakers use some kevlar, either a small % of kevlar in the fiberglass tissue or small, specific areas are full kevlar. Pogo, however, uses 100% kevlar tissue.

edit: ohh, and you asked about Titanal Thickness... correct me if I'm wrong, but Titanal is usually .5mm thick, but Kessler uses special .4mm thick sheets.

Whats the benifit of kevlar vs carbon vs fiberglass (besides $$$$)

  3. Its good to hear that the boards does what it is intend to. The principal is to have a board that allows wider angles which means more edge pressure which meens more edge hold which meens getting closer to the snow. But only if you are willing to sacrifice the fast edge to edge transition.

If you would use however a binding without lift and cants that would get your feet closer to the board and transition faster not to mention better edge control.

    what bindings are you suggesting?

  4. Why? I love my 16m Madd 180.

Mabey I should say in the mid atlantic.

your trails in Maine are wider than ours down here in penna. very very narrow here..

I very much enjoy the wider scr when its a little more open or less people.

not complaining.. just I need a wider trail to EC.

I rode my blade all day the other day when there was few people.

    great board all in all

  5. took the day off from work. Daughters birthday is saturday, wife said it was cool, She had it under controll... monday night.. Work overload to the nth degree.. (Yes for all you real estate worry warts , the market is picking up) have to bag any snowboarding for 2 weeks it looks like. Spring Market is early.

You have no Idea how p-d off I am. I had everything packed and a place to crash on thursday night for a early arrival. Can someone photoshop my pic in the group photo? Im supposed to be there, not doing inspections for someone buying a house. ( I even was going to bring my shiny new coiler)

    Oh well money calls.

I hope conditions are great for everyone and everyone is safe.

  6. I went the Platypus bladder route, and have been oh so happy ever since. In Japan I used Pocari Sweat or Aquarius powdered drink mix, nothing like that here :( so I usually just use water. no issues as long as the water's good.

They sell that at most asian (assi ?) markets. Ive bought energy drinks before and seen this.

  7. 2 times in the last couple years I blew out my left foot big toe nail

How about taping your toes with moleskin? Or wear some really thin and tight socks?

I had inserts made by my podiatrist. I think they were the best dollars I ever spent (I think insurance even paid for them). Im never in pain and the boots fit well.

  8. Thanks everyone for the help!!!

We got to Utah on Thursday hit PC.. then Canyons, Then Powder (on soft boots it was fun) Then Snowbird (it snowed that day it was a workout and a blast) then back to the Canyons..

We both thought the canyons was the best..

We had a great time !!! THANK YOU!!! I hit almost every trail that was posted here. They were GREAT.. We had a ton of fun at the canyons 'another world'

sorry I didnt bump into anyone else carving, I felt like the lone carver again.

My cousin said we went the speed of "Plaid" the whole time we were there.

  9. It's been my experience with Bomber STD's that you have to pay attention to the lever tension as time goes by, because the boot contact points on the lever begin to wear away the boot plastic, eventually making it slightly looser than when you first set it up. This is the only thing I don't like about Bombers. If there is to be a TD-3, I'd love to see some teflon inserts or similar inlaid into the lever at the boot contact points to prevent this. I've worn some rather large depressions in my hard boots from this problem.

Have you noticed that the td1 (dont know about td2) have a larger contactpoint vs other bindings? Mine also dig into the boot much more than my burtons... Ill take a photo if you dont see it. Dont know what it means but just making a statement

  10. I have a couple of Monoskis mounted with bail bindings. (older stuff). I don't have much experience with using the set-ups you Alpine riders use. In my experience with older Cateks, Sno-pro's LoFo's and a couple of others, I found the bolt, or whatever, in the toe clip is to adjust for various boot heights. If the lever goes too far beyond the fulcrum it becomes a little loose. So it might be very tight to get on and off but may not be properly adjusted with that height bolt.

    Feed the addiction...

I understand....Ill check it out....Thanks.. I really should have thought of that!!! I have mine almost backed out 100% so they dont do anything..

  11. The heel pads that came with my suzukas were very soft, and my foot would wiggle around a bit when just standing around even after making my bindings super tight. I changed out the stock pads for the bomber urethane and have not had that problem since. It was a very comforting investment.

    mario

    hmm

I have a extra set of pads. Ill change them just incase.

  12. Still trying to find a titinal supplier, but most searches come up for overseas and I cant dump that kind of cash. Maybe after a few builds I will look to go up that ladder.

I think for titnal you need a press...

Cant you get some aluminum weaved into fiberglass?

I thought I saw that one in my life.

Ive seen the kevlar/carbon weaves... why dont board builders use kevlar?

  13. Not to bring a dead thread to life... but...

we are going.. to be in Utah Thursday... I want to thank all of you for your help..

.... My cousin wants to hit snowbird on Friday.. I think he digs the big gondola .. I dont know why!

Any cruzing trail reccomendations for snowbird?

Also I dont know what the conditions are in general in the area... Im bringin my 172AM ...

But should I bring my short 158soft board or my plank 176 soft board. I think he wants to hit some back stuff.

    Thanks... from a unseasoned traveler.
