  1. Has anyone used moldable liners (Deelux or Intuition) for ski boots (getting a set for my girlfriend)? If so any suggestions or things to watch out for? Thanks
  2. I have been riding some 27.5 Burton Fire boots for a few years and have decided to get some moldable liners now that I have some cash. I just measured my feet and found that I should be riding a liner in the range of somewhere between a 26 and a 26.5. Does anyone have any suggestions to ensure a tight fit with the larger shells? Thanks, Gord
  3. One other thing to note is that you are essentially flying during the off-season. So you have some leniency with bringing tons of stuff. No other skis or board bags should be on the plane, so there will be lots of room, only golf bags this time of year. I have also been asked several times what is in my bag...just tell them one board and lots of clothes and they should leave you alone, just make sure that it's under 70lbs or they start getting a little flustered. -Gord
  4. Hi Guys, I play the Trombone (King 1400 Professional standard). Although I haven't played much these past years, I'm hoping to get back into it sometime soon. I also used to play the drums in a Jazz band (Big Band music), but never had the cash to put together a set. --Gord
  5. Check this site out. At the top there is the ebay search button, it'll check out all of Ebay in the states and Canada for any carving gear: Raichle, Bomber, Catek, Head...the works. --Gord
  6. Thanks guys, I just wanted to get a feel for how much riding I was going to be able to get in. I'll drop another post when I get in town and maybe a couple of us could hook up for a weekend of trenchin up in North Mich. Take care, Gordon

  9. Hi All, Well I've just accepted a job in Sarnia Ontario, Canada(just on the boarder to Port Huron, MI) which is one hour north of Detroit. I have been racing (PSL, PGS, SBX) for years and while I know that I will not be able to compete as much next season (although I may run up to Blue and drop into a Nor-Am or OSA race), I'd like to get an idea as to whether or not there are any decent hills in Michigan where I can go and get my speed/carving fix. Anyone out there that knows of some good spots that I can run to for the day? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Gordon
  10. Now that picture has face-plant written all over it! Where's the after-shot?
  11. Hi Mike, I used a balance board a few years ago when I did my ankle in while hitting a tree... I started going to physio and then found that all they wanted me to do was stand on this damn board for 15 mins....so I went home and made a board myself. I used a square piece of ply-wood (1-1.5ft square) and then bought a circular piece of wood from the hardware store (banister end for a stairwell), cut it in half and glued it to the center of the board. And there you have it, the poor man's balance board and it worked like a charm. Start with two feet while wearing shoes on the board, then without shoes, then eventually with one foot (no shoe) and you'll see your ankle getting stronger by the day. I haven't re-injured that ankle in about 2 years. Good luck and happy recovery, Gordon
  12. I know that this is a hardbooter website, but I just had to throw this in. I’ve got a brand new (used once) set of Burton PSI softbood step-in bindings (with auto-reload springs). Green and Black in color and in mint condition. Hardware and extra plates included.I have pictures just drop me an email. $150US +shipping + insurance. --Gordon http://www.burton.com/Burton/gear/products.asp?productID=45
  13. I’ve got a 164 Burton Factory Prime (1998), 11.79m Sidecut, 19cm waist with a set of Burton Race Plate bindings (2000) for sale. The board is well used, and more flexible than a board directly from the factory, but there is no core damage. The base is impeccable (only one base grind) but has one small scratch near the tip and will not affect the performance of the board. The surface is scuffed up from wear and tear and there are some spots near the tail where the topsheet has chipped off, but no de-lamination. The bindings are in good condition. They are made up of a series of different Burton parts and have metal 3x3 plates. I have a bunch of spare parts that I’ll include in the sale including a spare baseplate, heel bail and a couple of toe-bails, plus various 3x3 and 4x4 discs. This board is perfect for someone starting out on plates or an aggressive rider that is looking for a longer slalom board. Price is $175 CAN obo + shipping + insurance I have a bunch of pictures available on request, just send me an email. --Gord
