Thanks Derf! I've been looking at those shoulder protectors for awhile. I will definitely need to get a pair before next season. I just injured my opposite shoulder 2 weeks before my surgery while at Mt. Hood Meadows. Really bummed me out 'cause it happened on Saturday so I couldn't ride Timberline on Sunday. Oh well maybe I'll be able to ride again by the end of summer. ________ Glass Bong

Just had surgery on 5/3 to fix a labral tear due to a snowboarding accident. Anyone else ever have this? What was your recovery time and how do you protect yourself on the hill afterwards? I know it's supposed to take at least 6 weeks ( no surfing :( for awhile) but it that a realistic time frame? ________ SUZUKI GSX 650 F

Two of my favorite riders to watch (on hard boots) where I ride( Snoqualmie) is Jacob (the Hawaiian) and another fellow (don't know his name) with LONG blonde hair in a pony tail. Jacob is fast and carves hard but the guy with the pony tail is absolutely sick. He's the only one I've ever seen ride the park on an alpine setup. He makes switch carving look effortless. Definitely an inspiration to myself and to my students. BTW anyone know who it is? ________ Recall zoloft

So true. I wish I wasn't scheduled to have shoulder surgery next monday. I'm going to miss the whole summer and fall. I don't know who is more upset by it though; my wife or myself. Yes, Snoqualmie and Alpental will be on the list. I spoke with Matt who runs the Mt. Hood Series this morning and will have a complete schedule soon. The Mt. Hood series is expanding back to the Northwest Series with the 1st event (slalom and GS) to be tentatively held at Crystal 1/8-9/05. ________ Hotels in mexico city

Sunday's race clinic is canceled due to conditions(too much cascade concrete), lack of gates and decent lanes. My skiing counterparts failed to reserve gates and good lanes on a heavy race weekend so we were stuck with a bad lane that hasn't been groomed since the begining of the season. Thanks so much Sean for coming up and helping us through our disorganization. I wish conditions had been more favorable. If you mean tandem as in riding together then yes. However, only if I'm the one riding with them and when it is absolutely necessary. I do use it with my advanced students to teach control, teamwork, and a tool for improving switch riding. Hi there! Kevin from the Summit at Snoqualmie here. I run the snowboard coaches assistant program at the Summit. I am holding a race/gate clinic between 1-5 pm Jan 31/Feb. 1 for my students and would love it if some of you would be willing to come over and ride with us for the day.
