Another great day again yesterday. Once again the lodge was full of older skiers. Very little concern about unaware people on the slopes, few if any straightliners. We were one of the first chairs up Ptarmigan. As we cleared the knoll we saw that Firebowl was groomed TEN PASSES WIDE!. We carved that up again and again and again. Bennet's was about 2 passes wide and Roulette was ungroomed. Blue sky, sunshine, cool but not cold, no wind. 14 runs between 9AM and about 12:30.
I saw you guys there!

Ice, Kyle, and I were there! You should have come!

I am really tired of gapers and Patrol that do absolutely nothing to keep the general public safe from:
- Ski Racers- Do I need to explain?
- Straightliners- Both skiers and snowboarders capable of high speeds but have no ability to stop
- Freego skiers-These are the momma bears and their kids and includes young men skiers locked into death plow meandering all over runs with squared shoulders
-
Anyone riding or skiing above their ability or on terrain above their ability-
- This includes anyone popping out onto a trail from the trees or claiming that you cut them off from below- insert skier responsibility code here__________________________________________
Patrol had the perfect opportunity to yank that pass. SMH. I've got a pretty nice a$$ shiner! I hope Ink is feeling better today!

24mp in hardboots Deeluxe 425.
25mp in softboots Burton Photon Boa Wide (really, they are softer than some female boots).
The waist width of ~26cm on a Tanker 171 and the new Virus Revolution board I bought let me get away with fairly low angles. I use Union Atlas FC bindings. No risers. I use minimal forward lean so my legs are straighter than most on heelsides; which would exacerbate any heelcup issues.
The lack of stiffness in the entire setup with softboots has helped my hardboot riding immensely.
By female boots, he means mine, Burton Supremes!

i hope to ride with y’all again soon, and if you’re in Bozeman, feel free to drop by!
Glad that worked. It might be more of a temporary fix but will lead you to figuring out more. Super stoked you're figuring things out!

Today was a Blast
A little more terrain, incredible snow, no 85mph gusts of wind, ergo no wind holds, and a sizable crew made for one of the more epic days of the season. Regulars, 007T, Ice, Ink, D.T., Shelly, SVR, Mr.E and myself were joined by Slopestar, Katie, and Wayne. We had a jolly old time (bad santa reference) trenching up just about all of our normal runs. Unlike the sugar over granite video of Loon sent to Ink and I by MR. JOHN DEERE, we had firm, consistent, squeeky, awesome groom at the Luv today. 11 of us, when we actually managed to all ride together at the same time. The practice field was open today, at about 1/2 its normal width, but it still took a lot of pressure off of 1 and associated runs. So far, it seems numbers have been much lower than the last few years, which makes me smile.
Everyone brought their AAAA game, so cool to see. Many awesome turns were laid down today, unfortunately any evidence will be obliterated by the Etch-A-Sketch of the groomers doing their thing tonight.
Went vintage today, and hopped on my archaic, ancient 182Hot Blast. You wouldnt think a 20+ year old clapped out race board with a badly p texed core shot and edges thinner than a dime would ride as well as some of these newfangled dohickeys that are in my quiver, but I was pleasntly suprised. Might have to compare it to a few of my other newer sticks to see what needs to leave to make some room...

My boots are older. Good times today. T!

WIth COVID issues to deal with, NASTAR made some major changes for this year's Nationals at Snowmass. Skiers raced with boarders on the same course. Everett McEwan and Kevin Blagys were blazing fast and will be racing in the Finals tomorrow.
Within my age group (70-74) I took 3rd in Skiing and 1st in Snowboarding. That's my 14th National Title in boarding (I've outlived most of my competition). Looking forward to next year.
I also raced both days.

Both involved are completely fine. The skier posted on Tic Tok, and this went viral, even made Unofficial Networks. I know the person involved, and he just wants all the publicity to go away.
