  1. SOLD TO mtrosejibber 7/19. Thanks for speedy payment, board is on its way. This is a 2006 Prior FWD in 179. It has had one run (literally) since a tune that included fresh edges a base grind and wax. No damage, good cosmetics. The bindings have been removed since the pictures were taken and are no longer available. Located in SoCal zip 90274, prefer payment via PayPal.
  2. OK the boots and bindings were nearly a photo finish. Carving Scooby sent in his dibs at nearly the same time that Carving Chef was PMing me. Technically the dibs online should be in first position however the Chef lives down the street from me here in LA, had a wad of cash and came to pick them up tonight from my house. Tie breaker goes to the Chef for being on it and local. Thanks Chef. THE BOARD IS STILL FOR SALE without bindings.
  3. BOOTS BINDINGS AND HEELS WERE PICKED UP IN PERSON TODAY, CARVING CHEF was on it, thanks. I STILL HAVE THE BOARD FOR SALE. You can see additional full size photos on this link: http://gallery.me.com/c.crocker#100249 THE BOARD: $350 obo This is a 2006 Prior FWD in 179. 4. good feedback and yes i rather like my kidneys whole. now that you mention it, i have a lightweight hex set i bought at a bicycle store that has plastic sides and is compact. i've just added it to the back pocket of the new dakine heli pro backpack i picked up yesterday to haul around all this stuff!
  5. i have the front bale of the TD2s in the "back" position to try and push the boots to the heel as much as possible. there is still more room behind the heel than the toe. i'm assuming this is as much as I can move it, unless there is some way to move the base of the plate system that bolts to the board and get some adjustment to heel side there??? it seemed to me when i put them together that the base was centered on the holes of the board to start with. should i try rotating the base below the binding to move them heelside? i've got a lot of room under the heels to the edge.
  6. OK, new in that I've only been out once or twice in the past 10+ years on ancient gear in ski boots. I've just kitted myself out with used gear from the BOL community and i'm just about ready to go give it a go. I picked up a prior 4WD and the deelux track 700s with a set of TD2s with the step in heels. I set up the bindings today and was trying to minimize the angles without the toes hanging over. i ended up with 55 degrees on the front foot and 60 degrees on the back foot. what i'm wondering is.... 1) should i be setting the very tip of the front toe inside the board edge, at the edge or hanging over. 2) does the rear toe also need to fully clear or can it hang out a bit? Sorry, these seem like silly questions i guess but I'd appreciate some input, perhaps i need to move them to clear even more? pictures are below. Thanks for the input.
  7. I purchased a set of deelux 700s but they came without liners. I need some thermoflex liners now. 27.5MP is ideal. I could probably stretch some 27.0 if they are strechy.....maybe.... Please they need some life in them I don't need some tired ones.
  8. SOLD 12/4 Purchased these a few weeks ago and they are too small for me. (After consulting the mondo sizing chart a gazillion times of course) I need the 27.5. Note to those of you looking for boots, drop by a ski shop and try on some normal boots if you don't know your size. On paper these should have fit me, I'm about a 10US and these are tight on me. 9.5US and under should be fine. I've posted a ton of pictures here: http://gallery.me.com/c.crocker/100181 Looking for $200 OBO. They also have the orange race tongue inserts which aren't in the photos. A fair amount of normal scratches but no issues, they are in good shape. Previous owner used them with intek heels in them so they have the small hole in the sole for the cable to pass through.
  9. PROBLEM SOLVED, THANKS looking for a pair of 27.5 boot that will accept step in heels. with or without heels is OK but prefer newer boots in good condition.
  10. As one of your newbies, i would be like a little brother trying to hang out with the big kids. But i do live in PV which isn't too far from the LBC and know the brewhouse. I'm in desperate need of some tips and advice however. I'm 50/50 however as i might be traveling for work. Put me down as "pending"
  11. Thanks to all, mission accomplished! Hi all, I just bought a Prior 4WD from the forum that came with TD2 step in bindings. Now i need some boots to go with it. You guys would know more about what would work but i'm told i need boots with intek heels to click in. I wear a 9.5 mens shoe and have measured my foot with the ruler to MP 26.5. My width is pretty standard. I would lean towards paying more and getting younger gear versus older gear. Will consider boots without the heels but they have to be capable of accepting the heels. I have a strong preference for a great boot with the heel already in so I have less things to track down but i'm open. Thanks to all.
  12. thanks to all, i found a nice prior 4WD with TD2s. Now i'm on the hunt for boots so i'll close this thread and start a new one for the boots, thanks.
  13. We had a "science experiment" last night with the kids helping to measure my feet. Looks like i'm a mondo 26.5 or 27. SOOOOO. my request for larger boots is way off. If you have mondo 26.5 or 27 boots with intek heels, please reach out and say hello.
  14. dan, thanks. i did mention that i have two young kids so looks like daddy is going to have a little art contest with his kids tonight to see which kid can trace the best around his stinky foot. results at 11!
  15. i prefer the short radius turns to long. medium ok but shorter better for the hills i ski. not a candidate for a GS board at all. slower speeds, just some soul carving.
  16. Hi Terri, nice to meet you. for the rest of BOL, Terry was a "riding ambassador" quite literally for me connecting to this site. thanks a bunch. I'm sure we will cross paths this season, we come every other weekend to summit or bear and when we put our two kids in the a.m. classes i get two hours to free ski until we pick them up for lunch. To your questions: I'm 5'9", 180 pounds (should be 175). I'm a pretty agressive standard skier, not patrol caliber but actually trying to make my volkl tigersharks carve the way they were intended (I resent being tagged as a "skidder" by BOL because i am new!!!) Most of the time I'll be at Bear or Summit in SoCal and most of the time that means very hard pack snow although last season was fantastic in SoCal and i'm hoping for a repeat. I have two kids so i normally miss the fresh tracks first thing in the am. Most of the time i'm skiing with the wife and kids so we are on easy blacks, medium blues. I avoid the bumps like the plague as I kinda like my knees and back and wont be boarding off piste, i save that for my big fat 91cm dynastars and save it for good snow up north. I'm likely to bring my board and skis to the hill, board in the am without the kids and switch over to ski with them. as to the bindings, for those of you who have young kids you know you are in and out of your bindings a lot to go push them, pull them, pick them up, etc. easy is good! actually what prompted me to stop and talk to terri was watching how easy he was getting into his bindings after getting off the lift and thinking wow, i wish i had those bindings a decade ago, that looks cool. as for price/quality. Frankly i'd rather spend more, buy current technology and just jump in and go for it. I'm torn on the all mountian versus carving board thing too. i anticipate you will all tell me i'm a prime candidate for an all mountain board. perhaps...? i'm getting it to carve as low as I can and i really dont like standard snowboards at all (see aversion to skidding above) they just dont do it for me. i dont need a slightly better snowboard with hard boots. i'd classify myself as a soul rider who just wants to lay down easy deep medium radius turns with some fluid style. i do like the trench digger tag, guess i have to work on that both on and offline. thanks to all of you who pipe in with advice even if you don't have anything to sell, much appreciated.
  17. hello all. i learned to carve 12+ years ago when i spent a season at copper mountian and hung out with some french guys who were into carving. as a surfer, i picked it up fast and was good once upon a far off younger time! ha! i saved my old board and actually took it out twice last year to bear mountian in socal after 12 years off. while fun, the board is ancient. i'm ready to get a modern one. I'm a solid intermediate even with 12 years off so i suspect i will get back to it quickly and be advanced again pretty quick so i'm concerned that the board I get needs to be OK for now but not hold me back once i get back in the grove. it will get used every other weekend at bear or summit in socal, conditions aren't great and cordoroy isnt abundant. it will make 1 or 2 runs to mammoth if i'm lucky as well. Not looking for an inexpensive board but think i can do better than buying new. thanks much for sending your ideas. even if you dont have one to sell, if you have an opinion on what i should get (because i can tell that no one has an opinion on this site!!!) please do chime in and share your thoughts. would prefer boots that allow the binding upgrade to step in bindings. p.s. to the snow summit ski patrol guy who rode the lift with me last season and told me about this site, thank you! UPDATE----Mondo 28.5 is probably too big. i'm a 9.5 US which should be mondo 28, thanks!
