One thing is for sure, minds sure have become more open about softboots on the bomber forums. Not so long ago, the mere mention of them in a title had the discussion moved to the off topic forum, or something like that... LOL
Eh, that's not exactly the whole story, way back when there were a lot of SB riders claiming SB's were just as good as HB's for carving. They weren't then, they aren't now. Remember kooks like Photodad?
I ride a Kessler The Ride, Now O Drive bindings, and Solomon Malamute boots. It can not perform at the same level as my HB's. When speed, angle or snow firmness increase you know it.

Ironically, I bought the Flows to go to Revelstoke.
I am riding the Now's in that "Ditched" video with Ryan K. Not really a good test of them, Breckenridge is flat and the snow is great.
-
I found the Flow's to be pretty annoying to use in general. Once in they were fine but getting in and out can be a PITA. I found deep snow to be even more a PITA with the Flows.
I am using the Now O-Drives and they seem to work well.

There should be a "0" response.
I see a lot of guys in hard boots skidding around. They don't even try to carve.
I think they think they are carving but they aren't.
Personally, if you are going to comment on a technique or equipment thread the forum should require you to post video or get vouched for. There's so many kooks on here spouting advice that can't find their ass with both hands on a snowboard.

When you going to come down and carve the dirty south? ?
When your mountain hits puberty?

@RyanKnapton is a great well-rounded rider. It was fun to ride behind him and witness his riding style in person, he's very smooth.
Shooting video while riding was harder than carving, he makes it look so easy.
@Mellow Yellow stay in the south, where you belong.

I love to find other carversdoesn't happen much around here.
Huh, really? After that pic I can't imagine why...
You can't use ski poles or a Ruroc and claim to want to move the sport forward. The average person identifies you as a kook and runs the other way.
Sorry it's harsh but true.

My Apologies.. but glad I did not do business with you..ya got quite an attitude!
Having met and spent time with Jerry and his family I can absolutely say this is not a true statement.

People who get hit regularly tend to be oblivious in general. They tend to not wait for gaps in crowds nor look uphill enough.
These same people will quote me and say that they aren't oblivious and do look uphill.
We get this thread every year.

This thread is for what Corey announced...let's try to keep it that way...announcing other get togethers, or just maybe, let's all meet here, is really confusing to someone who actually is trying to respond to his original post...
What he said!

We obviously need to look into archiving all the valid information in this thread.

Last years announcement threads started at the end of July...

I heard it and the SES are cancelled this year.

Wow, the FB page makes it seem like it is always snowing there.
Have they gotten any snow since the 26th?

David,
Kings, HB, Tote, and Sluice in that order this morning. Sluice is just recently groomed so not quite ready for hard carving yet.
I should be out tomorrow morning at 8:30. Conditions warrant some mental prep to be on your game.

The site says entry is free in 2017. Are they really going to make you pay if you don't have this free pass?

Text removed for violating forum Rules and Guidelines.

He removed lines of Erik's original post to fit his narrative.
It's a bit more than troubling.

Did he censor you?
Yes, he did. What a way to lose credibility quick. Notice the forum doesn't show that Jim edited Erik's posts but he did.
Keep in mind Erik has decades of experience in boot fitting.
Where is the best place to carve near Silverthorne/Dillon, CO???

EPIC pass mtns will be crowded except for the Beav and Abay. The Beav doesn't really have anything that steep so if you are looking for that you may be disappointed. Abay doesn't have that much for carving but it's not that crowded.
Haven't been to Loveland but everyone says it's great. Go there.
