Pretty clear from multiple on line video reviews from a range of sources that the sensor system is able to give accurate pressure distribution, direction, angulation, acceleration and location information. Android and i-phone versions of the app are available. The product has been developing over a few years now.

Their website FAQ section that there is no snowboard version, but I suspect they haven't thought about the niche area of alpine carving snowboarding.

So how useful would the app be, given that we ride with our boots off the axis of direction of movement, with both boot lift and sometimes boot cant?

I suspect that the data, even with the app setup for skiers could provide useful data to an instructor or racing coach for an alpine snowboard rider. The tech will probably appeal to at least some of the engineers here! @Corey

Conjecture is of limited use. Someone who can carve well actually trying it would be illuminating.

    a different type of review?

As an engineering student looking at comparing dynamics models of snowboarding to data, this would decrease the amount of instrumentation to be developed for the purpose. Definitly Intriguing.

  2. I was scrolling through Facebook the other day and an ad for an "innovative" ski boot popped up. The boot company is called APEX. Here is the link for the boot.https://www.apexskiboots.com/ Personally, I am NOT looking at purchasing it, but it did catch my interest and raised some questions I had, and I would love to know what y'all think.

Here are some questions that came to mind:

Has anyone purchased and used this for hard boot snowboarding? Ski and Softboot Snowboarding?C

Could this boot be a "decent" all-around boot for winter activities? (The one boot to rule them all)

What would be some concerns that you would like to voice?

    PROS V.S CONS

Any other thoughts that come to mind?

    Thanks for the input!

  3. Greetings!

I am looking to get into Alpine Hardboot Snowboarding, coming from Skiing, and have a Basic Board that I am going to purchase this week. I am currently looking for some used boots that I can use for a season before I make the plunge into expensive boots. My price range is max $250 and preferably $190. Can I get anything used for the price?

Here are the board Specs and Binding(Photos for the binding and board as I do not know the name of it. Still learning the lingo.)

My everyday wear foot size for cowboy boots is 9.5 Wide

    Board Specs:

    BURTON FACTORY PRIME 57 197A

    Thank you and Blessings,
