  1. Why don't you wait, test and buy the boots on site on your next ski trip? You probably seen my post about the Burton furnace I got that are a bit tight alright - so now im kind of looking around for liners but it looks like im doing a presason trip to Davos - they do free ski pass until 20th of Dec. So thinking heading in to the local shop rent a Kessler Alpine and maybe by a new pair! - fingers crossed they take a trade in!! http://ferienshop.davos.ch/en/booking-proposals/lift-pass-for-free-201516/
  2. Well if anyone loves em - give me an offer! :)
  3. Lads, thanks for all help!!! so last night I'd set it all up, buckled in and onto binding and board and I'm kind of torn between Its a super tight but "perfect" fit, i.e. I can "move" the toes but not wiggle them. Some pressure points but they seem to change eveytime i put my boots on. Would just be worried of getting black toes and etc. Maybe I just need a pair with mondo 27 instead? Reckon I will save the monies and instead of spending 150$ on new liners I've will just wait it out, check the old ebay.de and wait for a pair of second hand 27's to pop up. Keep wearing the 26's in front of the missus while watching TV.
  4. had a quick look online and found one crowd that ships for roughly 45$ - I will need to double check this so there is a depot close enough to where I live.
  5. Ya - I can cram in the foot with the existing liner. And when in "position" i.e. with forward lean and buckled in it actually don't feel to bad. Now it is TIGHT!!! I wear really thin socks also - its nicer without. Any suggestion for thinner liners - just any hard ski boot dealer? like https://intuitionliners.com/thestore/dreamliner-lv/ ??
  6. Selling a pair of burton furnace boots. Size 26. Too small for me. From 1999. Not used. Willing to trade for size 27. 30€ plus shipping.
  7. So can't get a finger in between heel and boot. might sell or trade alright
  8. Took a punt on a pair of old Burton Furnace Boots mondo size 26. (I'm 26.5cm measuring) The boots are super tight - but when in slight forward lean, they actually feel bang on well (tight as hell), they are "unused" in "new" condition from 1999 - my guess I might need to pack out the liner a bit or possible punch out the boot a tiny tiny bit? I haven't worn a pair of hardboots probably since 2000 so i probably don't have a clue how painful it should feel or not! Anyone ever handed in a pair to a general cobbler or would that be a recipe for disaster? Maybe I should just wear them over the summer when watching tv.
  9. sound. All my previous norway trips used to involve bring ALL food and drink in the car. From Cork - Austria is more convenience but It's all one week irish package tours.
  10. Nuts? Like crowdwise? Ya, I just checked the webcam - impressed there is still snow! The more I look at winter travel options - it seem to come down to 3 options as i kind of have negotiated a free pass with missus (I'm married with twins) I am on a limited budget 1. Surgical trip to Scotland with my own car January or March after/or before forecasted big snow - Belfast - Glasgow ferry 2. Last minute to Austria (You can only go a week from Cork to like Soll) 3. Norway weekend

    Summer

Thurso?? Only like 4 hours from Nevis Range? If you want to get world class surf and skiing on the same day i'd say Lofoten Unstad is the bay way to go! You will have to hike http://www.freeride.se/unstad-dont-panic/
  12. So do you go up a lot to Nevis and/or Glencoe? Do they have snowcannons and can gaurantee snowconditions? I don't mind icy small hills - i grew up skiing this shit http://www.isaberg.com/en/winter/skiing/ski-area/ 300ft of vert!

    Summer

Any recommendations on summer glaciers in Europe - Hinterux? Zermatt? Stryn? Or just save the money for a winter trip??
  15. Thanks for the feedback. I just found a new Volkl RennTiger 183cm for like 200Euro but i should give that a miss!! My Factory Prime hasnt even arrived yet - somewhere over the atlantic at the moment.
  16. Thanks lads - reckon i did the right thing - wasnt too keen on spending 1000-1500$ on brand new gear. Only other option is to go to Davos and hire a Kessler Alpine for 60CHF a day! And that excludes boots!!
  17. I havent snowboarded since 2004 (for various reason) - this year I got back one(!) day on my old 172cm Tom Burt in slush (it was +6C) in a small resort in sweden. A bit of soft boot carving ended up with a broken board - steel edge is no longer attached to the board. Went on ebay picked up a new unused Burton Factory Prime 6.0 with bindings and boots (cheap) - Im 5.11 and 180lb - and beginner on hardboot carving - any thoughts - do I get away on a 160cm prime in a small hill in scandinavia on groomed stuff? (as I live Ireland and will probably only going 2-3 days - probably over hols in a small hill - we are talking less than 400m of vert) I might pop over to Scotland but its the same stuff as above - short trip to a small hill Any thoughts>?
