Got a Apex V1 plate with the duckbill yesterday. Been trying it out today. Whats the general opinion on the duckbill?
Stomping on it a bit I believe I can hear when the board contacts the plate. But I can't say if it makes it ride better or worse. Its hard to make back to back testing :D
Board is Oxess RG.Positive:
Might have positive impact
Negative:
Might have negative impactLooks strange

Obviously hoping for the best aswell. As of why this question is here, I belive I saw a thread about problems with contacting bomber that now seems to have been misplaced.
Remember Catek? I was very close to ordering from them. And their webshop still seems to be up and running... -
Found this on Facebook, would be good to know if its safe to order or not?

The bank in May 2015 made a $90,000 loan to the couple to aid them in acquiring all of Bomber Industries’ stock; it was to come due in 2020. Loan paperwork lists as collateral all of the company’s furniture and equipment, as well as its trade name and website. Also listed as collateral were 500 shares of Bomber Industries stock.
But the Callens “have ceased operating Bomber’s business,” the lawsuit says. “It is unknown what the defendants have done with Bomber’s inventory.”- 1

my oxess (not a GS board) also has very little camber, from memory I think that oxess tends to be built like this, I suggest you ask Marcel the builder.
Might be so. Thank you.

Also, some boards are built much flatter then others.
Off course they are and some are built like bananas. It was noticeble stiffer than a previous SG when new. Therefore the comparison with the camber of a newer SG. A board with kind of the same purpose and therefore similar shape and probably camber profile. Although the SG has a lot more decamber both front and back. Anyways today I can not really feel the difference. They ride different but not a noticeble difference in stiffnes. Its all out of curiosity...

Anyone who have a measurement of the camber height of a fairly new Oxess RG19? After many days on snow it now seems quite low although I have no idea how it was when new. Compared to my SG its almost flat. No idea if one can judge aging by camber but anyways. It rides well but its hard to compare over the course of years...

Just be aware that shortening a spring will make it stiffer and a longer spring of the same kind will be softer.

I tried logging it with my phone. With the phone in the pocket of the jacket theres probably many soruces of error. But anyway...
Carving a 19 m radius board at 50 km/h showed 2 G on my phone. Could not find any good app that logged the data and showed nice graphs for my windows phone.

A bit OT : For europe you could also look at Oxess. My off the shelf RG was cheaper than an SG, Kessler or Donek. Maybe a bit more than a Coiler. The swiss currency might have gone bananas though?

I have been to Hokkaido. You do not really go there for the carving but I had two boards with one of wich was for carving. :D
It really depends on the snow conditions at that particular resort at that time since theres so much snow it has a tendency to get really soft for carving.
Anyways
Kamui Links: Small resort 500 m vertical? 10 slopes maybe? the main one is wide and probably offers very good carving the snow was too soft though. Difficult to get a 185 board to fit in the gondola.
Pippu: Best carving conditions when i was there, small hill, 300 m vertical? Maybe 5 slopes, the steepest with perfect steepness to my taste.
Furano: Big resort with Hokkaido standards. Kind of flat and when its steep its not very wide but fun anyways.
Asahidake: No carving, Very fun off piste when conditions is right. One ropeway and two transports from the top at each side, very flat at the end.
Kiroro: In the same league as Furano. Had the best day here with much fresh snow. :D
Kokusai: Small resort, 5 slopes? We had bad weather. Fun for one day maybe.
Sapporo Teine: Steepest on Hokkaido? VERY crowded with schoolchildren. I can see one of the slopes would be fun for carving but it was not groomed when we were there.
Niseko: Biggest on Hokkaido, could probably offer good carving if the snow is hard enough. Very touristy if you previously been to Asahidake or Pippu. :D
There are more places on Hokkaido but i have only been to these.

Where in Sweden?
Cheap F2 stuff can be found on ebay.de

Thank you for the info. Will probably bring the Oxess.

Hi ,
First of all , Let me know where are you going to ride .
It depends on where you go . In general snow in Hokkaido is soft .
Haha probably comparable to asking wich board to bring to Sweden :)
We will start of with Asahikawa as our base. Ski areas will be up to debate.
Staying on Hokkaido for 12 days or something similar.

Going to Hokkaido on the 16th. I will have room for two boards. What do I want?
1. Tanker, seems given.
2. Oxess RG185, Needs some space.
3. Prior WCRM 183, Most allround?
4. Coiler FC VSR 168, Nervous, digs in in soft snow.
The carving boards will have a BBP mounted.
Currently the Prior is my choice since it needs less space and speed but I like the Oxess more and dont really ride the other boards. But I really dont know what to expect either:confused::)

Probably has to do with the Apex plate, with the hardware from that plate it looks like i could get the axle more forward.
-
Just realized the UPM pattern on the board will put the front axle too far back for my stance so it doesn't really matter anymore.
-
The replacement for my crashed SG arrived today, a Oxess with UPM and 4x4 inserts.:)
The only hardware for my plate i got so far is 4x4.
So has anyone switched back and forth between the inserts and felt any difference?
Should I be in a hurry to switch to UPM or can i relax?

Jesus Christ. Did you walk away unharmed?
Kind of, A bruised hip. I assume the board took the most of it

Teddo and guys atleast used to ride lot's in Åre, we had even carving session there some years ago.
There are still some swedish guys lurking here and Swoard forum but unfortunately Sweden and Norway are very quite related carving,
totally different than Finland where we have very active carving scene.
Perhaps you dont have too long way to Levi or Ylläs :)
:)Lurker reporting.

E-mail sent on Red mounting hardware.
Apex V1 duckbill cut or not cut?

And yet it was gone on the V2 probably because of the boards getting better adapted to the plates?
