  1. I was a bit upset that they decided to close star and vista during midweek ops, but they did such a great grooming job today, it made up for it. Besides, you can still get the the vista terrain from the cascade chair. Top to bottom of mtn was pretty stellar groom. It started out on the firm side and then got really nice. Should have started an hour later and my legs would have had more energy for the softer snow. If anyone goes tomorrow, I would give it time to soften up and then hit it hard.
  2. Great snow today for us hardbooters. Had some of my best runs off of north canyon. Snow was very grippy but you had really be ready for unexpected ruts or holes in the groom. I always seems to find these spots and have to ice my ass later. Anyway, fun snow that lasted till 11:30 for me with all the spring breakers. Probably my last day till April. Dan L.
  3. Today, 2.20.13 was a great carving day with the 2" of new snow ground in. Get out there tomorrow if you can, it should be another stellar day to make trenches.
  4. Two fridays in a row with Mr. Bluebird. Snow was not as great as last week but it did have it's great moments. Took a few pics and will try to attach. Ladies in the pic are my wife Thao and Randy's wife Cynthia (think I spelled that right). Dan L.
  5. Yep, today was worthy of my first post of the season. Sam and I had snow that you lay awake at night hoping for. Definitely my best carving day of the year. Bryan, let me know via my personal email if you set a date for your get together. Dan L.
  6. Wow, can we have any more storms in a row?? Plan to be there Thursday and Friday this week. Bring your favorite pow gear. dl
  7. Wednesday should be good... Low temps and lots of new snow to grind in. I will be up along with a few other hard booters.
  8. I am also interested in this board. Let me know if it is available and we can talk off this thread. Thanks. Dan
  9. Had such a good day yesterday, had to go for it again since it is the last official Wednesday. Rode some pretty sweet groom with Mike (the wizard) Tinkler. He was on his latest and greatest board with a few new mods. Never thought a snowboard would give me a woody, but this thing is awesome. Anyway, looks like more powder on the way. Hope to go again on Friday. Dan:barf:
  10. 6 inches in 12 hours and blowing snow all morning. Had fresh tracks every run today. Is this April or January?? Guess there really is no friends on pow days. Saw people I knew, but never really rode with them. Crazy to see the the regular season close when there is so much snow out there. No water shortage this summer. Dan:barf:
  11. I know of at least three alpine riders coming on friday. Anyone else?? I have beer in the parking lot at 11:47am after some stellar carvin.
  12. Looks like ride board got scared off by spring break. Don't blame ya.... Anyway, took a chance today and was rewarded with hero groom with very light traffic on the hill. The only kicker was flat light. This has been the year of flat light and mixed conditions. Friday might be our next day if the reports hold. Dan:barf:
  13. Pretty decent snow the last couple days. Powder runs on Wed and some carving on Thursday. Mostly fluff over groom, which made for some fun GS turns. Met up with Galen on Shooting Star and we worked our way around. Thanks for hanging out Galen... Get that radio out and maybe we can meet up and make some runs again sometime. Dan:barf:
  14. The Oregon state high school races made the the mountain a but busy today, but there was some good carving out there. Got tracked out really fast on the main runs. Vista main run was a mine field of bad groom. Opened Cascade at 11:30 but they didn't really groom anything but a small path:confused:. Mostly windpacked powder. Hopefully next week brings us some stellar days before spring break starts because you know what that means.... Lots of people.... Tuesday will be our next day. Later, Dan:barf:
  15. I hear ya Galen...... We made the choice to take Buttercup to Vista first thing in the morning and had some great pow runs until it got tracked out. Took Blue over to the other side and it all pretty much sucked. Think it took 10mins or more to ride up Blue. Not a snowboard friendly chair. Glad we don't pay $69 per day....... Dan
