Tim--Your post jarred something loose in my memory about sidecut on a snow-skateboard-ski that was built by an old friend named Gary Tracy in Santa Cruz--Well know for building waterskis and boats.--He built 5-6 of these 140cm? long 20cm wide? with fins that ran from the center of the board to the tail--0" at center of board about 3/4" at tail. He was struggling to build the fins on the slight radius that he had on the board. It seams like he built these boards in 77 or 78. I rode them I think in 1978 off the tee boxes at the tahoe donner golf course on ice--I still remember the punishment i took. They went fast and only straight. They worked good on the sand dunes though--I think we put wd-40 on the bottoms for sand. The bindings on these boards consisted of two 5/8" pieces of shock cord down the center anchored with thick SS pad eyes. I think the cores of those boards was clark foam or Kelgacell foam.

Very funny
If what you wrote were true i would be out of work instead of a endurance racer and coach. Carving is one of the ultimate muscular and cardiovascular endurance sports out there. I would have any of my clients who wanted to carve powerfully all day long do 6 weeks of aerobic base then start doing strength and aerobic strength exercise. One indoor machine that i use alot for carving is the Concept 2 erg--high damper setting 3 minutes hard 3 minutes rest.
Jason try wearing a HR monitor next time your on the mountain.

I'll also be a Brundage carving with two other carvers in my family from December 24th thru January 3ed. We could possible have 7 or 8 trenchers out lacerating the corduroy there.

Schweitzer is a great mountain to carve on- They have a few engen type runs--should be fun! Guess J-bird is in charge of brundage on thanksgiving.

For the record my legs are as chisled as a poop filled diaper, but i use lemon pledge on my top sheets-so that lemon aroma drowns out my poopy legs.

my two year old north face jacket had the seams on the bottom, both sides come out. I sent it back-they repaired free of charge. The repair lasted two days before one side started openning back up. I sent a long letter explaining my problem with the jacket-- they wrote back that they could not help me out. The pants I bought with this jacket started absorbing water the very first season--North Faces answer to this problem was the pants are not waterproof--as if I was swimming in them. No more North Face appearl for me!
