  1. I just did 7 days at Targhee it was pretty tasty.  Sun Valley is not so good right now, snowbasin should be good after this next cycle.   If you make it to Targhee you should have Kib and Michael from Germany to ride with.  Blackfoot Lift is the spot right now at Targhee.

ha... i should have preface it with "the resort I been to".  I do try to do a Safari when I went to a state for ski trip but always constrained by time and funds.
Had a chance to sample the following while I was in the area:  Snow king(WY), Jackson(WY), and Targhee(ID)  <-- only ski area i been to in ID.

Sounded like Sun Valley should on my to hit list.  What you described was what I feel about: Big Sky, MT
    Jaw dropping width...

Snowbasin(same owner ship as Sun Valley?); very very nice bath room lol.  Great carving too but the bathroom made an impression.

I've had a pass to both Targhee and Sun Valley for several years, both have epic carving/alpine riders, but Sun Valley is on another level.  Also, Grand Targhee Resort is in Alta Wyoming, which is very close to Idaho on most maps.

  3. I got some of the Prinoth Beasts finely manicured offerings last Saturday through Monday. Its been along while since i've seen Baldy looking that fine this time of year. Nice little snow cycle there last week. I'll be back up there as soon as my new Coiler arrives. Hurry Bruce, I'm having trouble waiting.

  4. I train and race for those stupid ultra endurance mtn bike events. It's great for tracking my training total time and vertical gained. This is one of my better years with 430hrs and 463k of elevation gain. It's also a good way to track and give friends a hard time when they go out for a 1hr 2k ride.

  5. My Wife & I just did the stay & carve/ski free at the Targhee Lodge. Worked out awesome, love that mountain. Sorry to tread jack, but on my last day wed 2/5 i did a few runs with a tall guy on a Coiler. He said he was house sitting just down the mountain. anyways, the last run i got out front of him a little ways & introduced myself to a rather large Fir tree. Fortunately for me i hit chest first, but i was off the run anyways so the Coiler rider rode by me. I got a painful ride to Driggs in an ambulance, then to a hospital in Id Falls in a helicopter. Anyone know what Coiler Man's name is? Please let him know i'm going to be alright & back tearing it up soon. Wish my wife & i could make it over for C.O.W. Jeff

  6. I'm older and in good shape so i like to go top to bottom. For me it's a perpetual, flowing rhythm that i have a hard time interrupting by stopping (i do the same with motocross and cyclocross/mtn biking). If i stop, it wastes 3-4 turns before i'm back in the groove. I also Que up a good song on the ipod when i get off the lift. I unfortunately for most, sing my music selection a bit loud while i'm riding, which makes for good entertainment for the people riding the lifts. The no stopping means most of the time i ride by myself, which i like (if my wife is reading-she is also a strong carver and i like riding best with her:1luvu:). This is the way i like to ride--not trying to wienie joist with anyone here.

I just love carving. Sorry for writing a autobiography.

  7. I have two sets of the Asterisk's, one for Motocross 3 days a week and another for use when carving. I've had 3 ACL replacements in the last four years, so i'm very committed to the braces. I don't find the lace system bad at all, you can unclip the fasteners at the back of the brace without loosening the laces much. The next time you go to put the braces on there is very little tightening to do to make them snug and comfortable. One other features that i like is they now come in a few pretty colors (ha) and also for $10 a pair you can replace the hinge stops, which is something you would want to inspect often. Hope this helps.
